It was a warm morning, now that it was summer and all, the white Queen in the middle of shedding her coat, patches of fur sticking out here and there. She groomed herself as best as she could, ridding herself of the stray patches of her coat that she was losing. The queen wasn't as old as some who were alphas, she was on the younger side of the adult spectrum. But that hadn't stopped her from claiming this land as her own and watching it slowly thrive with wolves that had decided they wanted to make this their home. Milo couldn't be more thrilled about it. But this morning, she climbed from inside her den deep within the pack, shaking the dirt from her ice white pelt which was also grey on her muzzle, legs, and underbelly. After shaking her pelt out, she lifted her muzzle to the air, tasting it and smelling it as she could. After tasting the air, she scanned around her, ears perked and checking surroundings. Once she felt like it was safe and no one who was not welcome in her territory, she took off in a trot to the border, it was time to rub her scent all over it again.
Getting to the border; Milo instantly rubbed against one of the trees, doing it again and again to the others along the border and sometimes rolling around on the ground. Bounding here and there; testing the air every once in a while. It was mid morning when she had gotten half way around the territory she took some shelter under some shade near the border, her tongue lolling out as she panted, letting her rump hit the ground. Her blue grey eyes looking out past the border of the spread out trees. The shade offered enough cool air to make her bodice a little cooler from the heat of the summer air with the sun beating down between the cracks in the trees foliage. Her tail still up in alpha position and watching as she got up and rubbed her scent on the tree nearest the border, turning and sitting near it, in the shade still but able to see her border and listen for others around her.
