The howl erupted from the other's mouth and Zephyr felt the fur along his hackle rise. Things were about to get even more interesting. The female spoke, calling him a "sweet boy" and asking if he knew what he was doing. Jade eyes turned to look at her for a moment as a slow, chaotic smile touched his lips. Of course he had no idea, but wasn't that what made it so much fun? There was no time to talk any further. After only a few heartbeats after the howl's last note died away, a thundering of paws emerged from within the pack and the great alpha had, at last, made her presence known. Boy, she looks pissed! Zephyr thought with cruel excitement.

The smell of blood woke something deep inside the puppy. Later, he would recognize it as the blood of his father. But for now, it made him growl savagely (as savage as a cub could growl) and launch himself into the fray of fighting females. What was the purpose of this action? Nothing but the sense of joining the fight. He wanted to attack, to feel flesh in his mouth, to taste that blood on his tongue. Though his assault had been random, his target was Pine. Aiming to bite at her tail, he would try to latch on and not let go until the battle was done. If her appendage should slip from his grasp, he doubted he would be able to land another hit and he would simply dart out of the way and continue to watch the fight with pleasure.

After a moment, it did finally come to an end. The strange female was hurt and was wise enough to know she needed to make her exit. Watching her go, Zephyr made a choice. He liked her. He wanted to know more about her and why she had come to Iromar this day. Why she had attacked the alphas. Without a second thought, he slid in front of Pine in a vain attempt at blocking her from chasing the retreating stranger. His jade eyes were bright and full of chaotic mischief. Then, he laughed. What fun this was! What was she going to do with him now? Did she feel threatened by the son of the Traitorous King?
