She watched so intensely that he felt any wrong move would instantly be sensed and dealt with. She didn't seem the type to handle weakness in another wolf so he had to do his best never to appear weak, but at the same time, he needed to be submissive to her will, or at least appear that way. He would have to put on his best show yet, in other words. She almost looked relieved after she looked him over though, taking a step back. He caught on that something wasn't quite right with his first response though. She composed herself rather quickly but he caught something off in her gaze as she looked to the side for a moment. His ears flicked back but he kept his face neutral as possible. It wouldn't do to let her know that he was watching her just as much as she was watching him. Though maybe there was a chance of redemption with his next response. She laughed and he tilted his head, waiting to see if it was genuine. It sounded genuine. It looked genuine. Did he actually amuse her? That was a plus, right? Then she asked which sounded best to him and he scowled for a minute. "Well if it were me, that's obvious. I'd hate to think I have to sit around and watch myself decay and wither while birds pick at my skull and maggots burrow under my flesh. But best isn't always reality." He shrugged. He lifted a brow as she turned to look back at the rabbit skull though, saying something was coming, something more than snow. She was growing more twitchy as time wore on but he kept that to himself. She kept looking at him then the skull then back again. She said something about a timeless place, saying that they needed to look into the eyes of the dead. He took a step closer but watched her in case she didn't want him closer to her prize. He remembered how possessive she can be, after all. She said something about a hunger brewing and he pricked his ears, leaning forward. "What danger? How do I see it?" He was asking for her guidance, asking for her to teach him, show him what he must do.
