Thanks for the insight on the cortada, HG. I will look more closely at it. That's why I love this board. You guys, with all your experience, see a lot more than I do. I watched Lopez' partidos in Mexico and it seemed to me that whenever he threw from the 7 line or forward, the point was over.
As far as Diego v Erik, I agree with you 100%. No disrespect meant to Erik, winning as consistently as he does in the Quiniela format is a skill all its own, but it doesn't translate into comparative skills. My own opinion, again from limited observation, is that Diego is not terribly motivated at Dania. It is a job, his day job. He shows flashes from time to time. He is a rhythm player who needs a bit of time to "get in." He seems tremendously motivated in these partidos and HAS THE TIME to "get in". Last year I think he was 9-2 (something like that) in both Spain and France and won, I think, 4 tournaments. This year, so far, he is 7-1 with 2 tournament wins and still counting. Whether he is as good as Goiko, I don't know, but he has a full toolkit of shots, is a great catcher, knows what to catch and what to leave (something Olharan could learn from), and is lights out in the clutch. A great player. Replies:
