Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

ARGENTO

The burnished-gold stallion spoke first, in a pleasant accent that flowed like water. Argento blinked in surprise and took a moment to mentally untangle the words into something comprehensible, and a slow smile had just begun to spread across his pale face when a fourth horse joined them.

Gent hardly recognized Paradiso, though he had met him only yesterday. The stallion’s white legs were hidden by a layer of mud, his eyes were vacant from lack of sleep, and he carried himself with none of the pent-up energy he’d had the previous day. Gent’s smile faltered and his eyes widened at the remarkable transformation. “Paradiso, you’re still here,” he remarked pleasantly, but before he could continue, the other two stallions spoke in quick succession.

Argento’s gaze swung first to Ernesto, to whom he dipped his head in polite acknowledgement, and then to Karash Han. And just like that, any precursor of friendliness that had been developing among the four of them was shattered. What a first impression to make, Gent mused.

He regarded the stallion quietly for a moment, aware of a tightness in his belly akin to dread, and then he pressed his lips together in a tight smile.

“I think you’ll find, dear Karash, that it’s already crumbled. When I arrived, it was nothing more than a lonely haunt for lost souls like myself. But what is broken can be fixed again, don’t you agree? I wasn’t planning on jumping straight into assumptions or propositions, but since you’ve done me the honor of breaking the ice, I’ll say this: if you gentlemen were to do me the honor of hanging around for a while, who knows what we could accomplish, hm? At the very least, it would be much less boring around here.”

He flashed a mischievous smile at Ernesto, who seemed to be the only friendly face for the time being.
