Dark forbidding clouds rumble overhead, angrily lightning rips across the sky, jolting the young mare from her sleep. Her eyes pop open revealing a pair of mismatched eyes, she shivers against the frigid winds. The air was heavy with threat of rain, she knows that soon the skies will open up and a rentless downpour will unleash on the Crossing Isle. She lifts her gaze to the skys just as another lightning bolt splits the sky open once again. She gasps in fear.

Drip. Drop. Then it came, like she had known it would, the downpour. The rain was frigid just like the wind, it soaks her to the bone within a few minutes. She grinds her teeth together in a feeble attempt to keep her body from shivering. She had found a protected thicket within the woods, but it was not enough to even remotely keep her dry. She heaves a sigh and looks out at the raging storm, just then a yell breaks the sound of pouring rain. A horse streaks by, followed by another.

They slide to a stop, the mud clings to their legs. She curiously watches their exchange. Who were they?

Calypso steps closer, the rain pouring all around her, soaking her dunskin coat. She eyes them with mistmatched eyes, she takes notice of the mares obvious anxiety. Why was she so afraid? Was something chasing her? "Are you guys okay?" She questions the pair. Her gaze flicks from one horse to the other. Another bolt of lightning cracks across the sky, causing Calypso to jump, her hooves begin to dance beneath her body. She tosses her delicate head, her sopping wet forelock falls over one of her eyes.
