yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

Selenium swings her head around to look at him, searching his face briefly to make sure he’s still joking. She’s been thinking it over ever since Ernesto’s first teasing words and gestures. Really, would it be so bad to finally get that experience? She hasn’t wanted a stallion to get that close, not seeing any benefit in having a little being constantly at her side. She’s always doubted that she could be patient with and teach an impressionable mind, and yet now may be the perfect time. She’s gotten around more than most so in theory she would have more to teach.

”Well, maybe not quite manhandling,” she says with a wink, deciding to feel him out. He’s made it clear that he wouldn’t force her but that he would like to get closer; she needs to know if he would actually go through with it if given permission. She hides her turmoil behind her teasing mask, shifting her weight again, her equivalent of dancing on her toes, which she considers herself too big to do.

She’s distracted momentarily by his forelock briefly covering his eyes and she looks him over again, reminded that he is a handsome specimen. Returning her gaze to his, she continues, ”Remember, I could take you.”

She’s glad that they shift subjects, not wanting to only focus on their flirtations as the basis of her decision. Ernesto’s reaction to serious subjects is just as important to her. She tilts her head in acknowledgment of his compliment, noting the position of the sun out of the corner of her eye. It has steadily made its way through the sky and she doesn’t want to risk spending the night here, regardless of whether Ernesto would help defend her against the lagoon’s other stallions. That means she’ll have to decide sooner rather than later.

”You certainly develop a thicker skin living there,” she agrees, ”but the beauty outweighs the danger, in my opinion.” She’s better suited than most for dealing with said danger so she may be biased. The thought of Tinuvel in all its winter glory never fails to bring a wistful smile to her lips.

It dawns on her only then that he’d just mentioned that he hasn’t been here long. It sparks several questions in her head, which she hopes there’s enough time to have answered. ”So where are you from?” she asks first, ready to let everything else build from there.
