"I... I'm sorry Motionless." The White Queen smiled and shook her head. "Don't be." She whispered faintly. She waited for his answer to her question. She'd never had a second in command . . . Maybe it would be easier. She almost felt like his apology was just the beginning of a "no". Then he spoke. "I would... like to stay, that is. But being a Beta... I do not know anything about that. I do not know how to be one. I have only just reached my eligible aged, only just finally finished maturing and have never in all of my life held a rank. What all would I be responsible for? What all does a Beta do?" Motionless beamed at him, tears drying and staining her white pelt. "You would be my second in charge - You'd help me with hunts, organizing events, accepting in newcomers, and gods forbid is something happened to me, you'd have to take my place." She smiled, hoping it wouldn't overwhelm him. "I want to be there for you and support you, but I do not know... I do not want to fail you." She swallowed. "Do not worry, I too was once too scared to fail everyone here . . . But it seems they're failing me. The numbers of the population here have been dwindling to just me and you it seems lately. I'd like you to help me rebuild it. Recruit new members, make this place home again. " She spoke softly, smiling at him. She believed with all her heart that he could do it.
