Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

- Zelda -

She couldn’t miss what she didn’t know. Nor did she really understand the feelings he had to which he was speaking of. It was hard to understand that he felt honor was missing more from these lands especially when she, and her family, on both sides even, held so much. She reminded herself though that Iblis was of the old lands, and Coszcotl too. Many of the wolves she met too seemed full of honor, but she did suppose that others that he might encountered might not have been so, but most Zelda met she thought had been.

”I am not sure that the world has changed that much then. I have met many wolves, including you who are good, honorable wolves, and I do value those things, and I know many of the alphas do too. But I haven’t experienced what you have, I am not sure to what you have seen that I have not. Though the one war has happened, Grandfather told me that was because the Demons forced it upon the Angels, they didn’t want to fight. I think what is going on right now is more of the falling out with Iromar and Diveen and same with Asteraia and Glorall, it’s a misunderstanding that I am planning to setting straight.” She said to him, her tail waving, voice hopeful, ”I don’t think the things you and your family valued are gone, or even harder to find, I think maybe, you have been unlucky Lex and your parents lucky. I have heard lots of bad, but more good, I promise if you let me I will try to show you some more too.” She said touching her nose to the side of his neck and shoulder where his scars were. ”Things are not so well for the last two years, but you were gone for the time where we had many of peace wandering. There is good here, you just need to see it for yourself and quit shadowing me into the darkness.” She encouraged. Really though if it was that much better, she wanted to strive to make it that way again, for everyone in Moladion.

She chuckled at his words that there were wolves who were less likely to jump at a chance to fight. She had to agree, though she might have had answers for that as well. ”I.. Hate to say it, but perhaps our new generation of leaders are… inexperienced, perhaps maybe even spoiled, by the years of peace we grew up in.” She looked away, she knew that meant her too, but she and her family were not wolves that were easily brought to rise to a fight. Aster and Pine, they were not like Zelda and she couldn't say for sure with Kalseru, but she had experienced the hardships and knew what it meant to have a pack on her shoulders, knew her actions spoke not just of her but of her land. Zelda thought Kalseru was more like her and perhaps not as quick to jump to something.

The part about imprinting though brought her to maybe blush at her cheeks when she thought about her new bond with Lazarus, but then gratitude that it was not since she one had Balor… she couldn’t picture ever loving or wanting to be with a wolf like him. Lazarus though, she thought she could handle. ”Maybe… that’s so, but I am also happy it is not that way. My first imprint was a wolf of such dark desires that there was no way I could ever love such a wolf… But from my grandparents, all of them, I know when you find that imprint that can be heart and soul it is the most wonderful thing, and no simple love can compare to it when you have or had that.” Though she knew that her grandmother Rhae dying had killed her grandfather Iblis, and her grandmother Moth’s passing also nearly took, and still did take a toll on, her grandfather Coza. Imprinting was powerful, and almost terrifying in some ways.

Still to learn such things was interesting, but maybe things hadn’t changed as much as he thought, but maybe if she did know more about him, of the past, she would understand why he felt that way. Or perhaps she was simply too naive and hopeful for this world. However, she noticed his ears tilt slightly back at her words, though she didn’t think it was a bad thing he felt, but she tilted her head looking up at him wondering why he was seeming so… sheepish? Was that it? However, he tactfully distracted her, causing her to remember what she was here for to begin with.

His reply though caused her to tilt her head the other way then, she didn’t know the truth of what he would do for her? She put that aside though as he said he didn't’ feel he was a good choice, that he had failed her, that she didn’t trust him. ”Ridiculous! I never heard anything so incorrect in all my days!” She teased, ”I know that the thief might had bothered you, but our borders are expensive, there is no way to always make sure every single wolf out there is repelled, I understand that, and if it bothers you that much I do have need to find him again. As for your trust, there are few I trust as strongly as I do you, Alexander. Outside of my family I can only think of four others, Astraea, Starfall, your brother Alistair, and Tithe. Of course I trust all my members, but I have the utmost faith that you would always seek what is best for our home, for Moladion. Especially after what you told me of the past. I am sure you would strive to try and make this land as it was in the past.” She added, batting him playfully with a paw, not trying to bloviate, but really she thought what he said was so odd. Then again it probably sounded a lot like something she would do to others when talking about herself.

”Things happen, Alexander, but it is us that must then try harder not to let things happen again, it is… not a good feeling when you fail those around you, I know that probably more than you understand, but all I can do is keep trying, right?” She added smiling up at him once more. ”So… are you going to accept then? With no doubts? Prove yourself wrong if no one else. For I think only you see your faults, your failings as that.” She challenged him albeit a bit teasingly if nothing else. No one was perfect, she knew that for sure, everyone failed even if they worked hard, though with each failure, Zelda herself only tried to fight harder to do what was right for everyone.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
