Ithiel wasn't sure that They had learned all that much in coming to Shaman. A lot of what They already knew had come from before, and learning about the culture here was slow going. There were so many days where Ithiel felt out of place here, but that was to be expected. Life before had been darker, more dangerous. Being here gave Ithiel a certain type of safety that hadn't been there before. Ithiel could be who They were here, could be proud of the bloodline and not worry that it would come back to bite Them in the ass later. Well, there was always some little possiblity that it could, sure, but not in the same way. It was nice not to be concerned like that anymore, though now there were other problems.

At present, Ithiel still had to get Caldera to sleep with Them, and it was a thing that made Ithiel feel somewhat queasy for how it had to be done, and the fact that Ithiel couldn't be honest about it. She seemed like a nice enough person, but probably not Ithiel's type. Not that Ithiel really knew what Their type even was. There had been a feeling once, long ago, before Ithy could even understand that feeling. That was it, all there had been. And it had only happened while in the Other form. Which made life a little uncertain in that area ever after. This doesn't change anything for Ithiel, though. The job worked out, and Ithy had gotten good at it. That was all there needed to be. Except this quest to find Their twin.

No matter how Ithiel felt about getting to that point. Having some drinks might make it easier, though. Which brought Ithiel to an idea that actually could help Them over what the idea of the object had been before. They thought of it when Caldera gave Their shoulder a playful punch -- at least that's how Ithy saw it -- and told Them that they hadn't been there long. Of course this was when Buddy took a drink of the beer, which Ithiel had to watch. "Huh, I would have never thought to do something like that in equine form." The words were thoughtful, said before Ithiel really gave it much thought. But with them out, Ithiel figured it might be a good idea to try and explain them a little to Caldera and Buddy.

Ithiel was amused by it, though worried for a moment if it would be off putting for Caldera to know about. Oh well, too late now. "I was stuck in equine form for awhile when I was younger." That explained enough, right? So it brought Ithiel to another question. "Do you have a shapeshifting form?" Was the curious inquiry. The whole asking about work thing did not go over all that well, but Ithiel simply shrugged to her response over it. The bit about bodyguarding for Prince Tristan was something to think about, though. Even if it was past tense. But before Ithiel could say anything in reply, she was asking Them if They was going to go get a drink or what. Ithy nodded at her, then glanced back at Buddy.

Another for him, but Caldera was good. Right. "Sure, I'll be right back." They said lightly, then went to go and order two beers, one for Buddy and one for Themself. While no one was looking, They carefully spilled some out of Their own and into what might have been a potted plant behind Their back. This way it could seem that Ithiel had been drinking it along the way back to where Buddy and Caldera were. Once there, Ithiel put the bottle for Buddy on the short wall and grinned at Caldera and then Buddy before speaking to the equine. "So how many of those do you usually drink for a buzz?" Ithiel was honestly interested in the answer, because the whole thing was neat to them; there had been no alcohol to drink while an equine back in the day, so of course it made Ithiel curious.
