Persephone returned Dragomir’s greeting with a nod of her own. She offered him a small smile, particularly as he questioned the intentions of her visit. They knew each other, of course, but not very well – otherwise Dragomir would have known that she had no intention of causing trouble without due provocation, in which case he would have no need to ask such a question. “Of course,” she replied warmly. “I have been making my way around the other herds across these islands one by one as best I can, introducing myself and trying to get to know the other leaders a little.” She paused a moment, her head tilted slightly as she watched for Dragomir’s reaction. It was interesting to gauge what the others she had met so far thought of her, given that she had yet to meet another who was doing quite the same as her. “Do you live here now? Is this your place?” she asked then, turning her head to glance around the rocky terrain. |
