Re(1): So--How about that Olha-Minvielle! Posted on August 31, 2017 at 07:22:04 PM by Jim
That's a great persepective, jsolo. I think your comments are spot on.
To me, Leke was placing the forehand the worst he has done in the duration of this event. I'd say 90% or more of this forehand, where he's attempting a bounce on he inside wall, were so far off the wall, Olha was able to intercept nearly all of them. That hurt Diego and Leke, overall. Also, so many unforced errors (directe fautes) from Leke, Minvielle, and even Olha. Diego wasn't aggressive enough, and also tipped some balls he normally would not. I can't for the life of me, understand why Diego will never ever attempt a forehand rebote CAROM! Olha is leaning inside ALL THE TIME, and and rebote carom, even with no angle would be a winner, given Olha is not looking for it. It's the one shot no one ever tries, except rarely Goiko. The one player who did it best was Aperri at Orlando. No one could even come close to catching it.
This match could have gone either way. But I like Olha's hard fought attitude and reactions when he wins points. He's so into it...I love it! Can you imagine if this team wins vs. Goiko and Lopez? It would be the biggest upset in I can't remember when. Replies:
