'cause oh i'm bleeding out inside; oh i don't even mind

Survival mode indeed. And he was feeling quite comfortable in it. This made sense to him, and kept him safe from the pain. Maybe it would keep him from all the good stuff too, but right now that was a price he was willing to pay to keep the pain away. He doesn't have all the answers as to what all of this is, but it's better to have what she'd give him than nothing from her at all. If that meant nothing more than conversation and company, then he'd have to deal with that, wouldn't he? But he didn't like the idea of just those things right now. He doesn't like the thought of looking in other places to sate his desires, but he would rethink his current standpoint on that if it came down to it.

It shouldn't be a worry, and so he decides that it won't be. He wasn't going to think about it right now. He would instead focus on Echidna's reaction, nodding when she said she did not understand. "I don't want pain and anger to hold me down anymore." He said, feeling like it was as simple as that. If it wasn't, then he would do what he had to to make it that simple for himself. He couldn't speak for anything or anyone else around him, but he had a choice on it, a way out of dealing with those emotions he was so sick and tired of. He is aware that the day had turned in all different directions as far as emotions and words had gone, but Quinn had said what he needed to, and it was done where he was concerned.

He likes the feel of the feather at his chest and he's curious on it and why she's given it to him, but if she wanted to tell him those things, then she would. Quinn wasn't going to press for any answers on it. Yet she had knelt in front of him, touched her thumb to the gem and was telling him that it looked beautiful, where it belonged. Telling him that she had made it for him before everything blew up, that it was a feather from her wing, and a gem she mined herself with some of her blood in it. He gave the purple stone another glance, then looked up to her. "In this, you know what I like so well." He responds quietly. It makes everything else feel strange for a moment, but he pushes it away.
