one track mind, like a gold fish

Girls! Danny growled, stomping his way back towards the suite of rooms his family shared. They were such... so... cool weird, pretty troublesome, nice-smelling confusing. He paused in the middle of the hall, gesturing wildly and muttering under his breath as his emotions reached a boiling point. He continued on after a few moments, though the mumbling continued. He'd had to put the situation with Oli to the back of his mind - he couldn't quite get it out of there completely, but his passion for providing premium care to all of his patients meant he'd had to focus on the more important things. Now that he lacked that distraction, it had all come flooding back, leaving him feeling equal parts miserable and confused. He turned bright red, his Adams apple bobbing as he swallowed hard. That moment. Was it... could it be...

"No, no," Danny said aloud, scoffing a bit. Solarius rolled his eyes.

"Dude, are we just going to hang around in the hall for the rest of the evening while you have your weird little breakdown, or are we gonna get home and get some food?!"

"I am NOT having a weird little breakdown!" Danny snapped, quite a bit louder than he intended. He glanced around guiltily, hoping no one had heard him. Girls! he thought again, irritably this time. They made him an idiot, and Danny hated coming off stupid. He'd had to work hard to get any sort of reputation as a doctor because of his age, and he wouldn't let something like romance get in the way of his dreams. His reputation was everything, in these early years, and he had to be careful about his public appearance... Especially considering his closeness to not one, but two traitors. The mere thought made his stomach roll so much he put his hand against it and winced. As if Tristan could ever do something like that, or that Thoth would be complicit to such a plot! But the alternative...

"You got butterflies in your tummy, loverboy?"

Danny glowered at Sol. "You better not say anything to Lunarian!"

"I would never tell Lunarian!" Sol said, looking offended. "A familiar's word is his sacred bond!"

I'm so telling Lunarian, Sol thought gleefully. Danny made a noise halfway between a growl and a scream as he slammed his key into the door and jiggled it a bit, earning a confused look from the tiger.

"I CAN HEAR YOUR THOUGHTS, YOU BIG JER-"

The door swung open, revealing two of Danny's very guilty looking siblings. An awkward sort of silence fell.

"DANNY-" Sol began, but Danny kicked him. A glance up at Danny's face said now was not the time for teasing, and the tiger looked very confusedly between Renn and Flynn.

"Uhhh," Danny said eloquently. He blinked, his eyes falling to the suitcases rather belatedly. "Are we going on vacation and I forgot again?"

He and Sol stepped inside, and he shut the door. He hurried forward, dropping his voice.

"Are we going to Tristan and Thoth?"
