Indira missed a lot while she was gone. Her mother is mysteriously absent. Her brother rules the desert and not her father. Tensions are running high, and Indira has yet to understand why. This is the first Indira has put herself in the middle of island drama. She promised herself she'd stay out of things, but she's always been a bleeding heart. Indira can't stand on the sidelines when someone is hurting like this.
A simple greeting wets the stranger's eyes with tears. She tries to sweep her own distress under the rug but Indira isn't fooled. "It's okay...", she offers quietly. Her own soft, brown eyes study the other mare. "I'm Indira." She wants to ask what's wrong, but at the same time she doesn't want to pry or be the cause of further upset.
Indira doesn't have time to resolve this inner conflict before her father swoops in. It quickly becomes apparent that Indira has stumbled into some Koray-induced drama. She is half tempted to back out and leave them to it but, but curiosity roots her to the spot, and she listens in on Vita Nova and Orhan's exchange. The more Indira learns about her half-brother the more conflicted her feelings for him become. He is blood, and he's done much to keep her safe. Gratitude and a sense of loyalty keep Indira tied to Koray. Beyond that, Indira can see a little bit of herself reflected in Koray's face. She admires her older brother for his many talents and his strength, but cruelty doesn't sit well with Indira. It's obvious that Koray and Indira don't share the same moral convictions.
Indira's nostrils flare with reeling thoughts, but it is mention of her sister that causes her to visibly flinch. Indira assumed her sister had grown and moved onto bigger and better things. While Arcana's disappearance was most concerning, Indira hadn't given her sister's absence a second thought. It's normal for young mares to leave their birth herd. She thought to seek out Evren after her foal was born, but now there is a new sense of urgency associated with the task. Indira turns an alarmed expression to Orhan. "If Evren's in trouble, we have to find her." The words come with a trembling vibrato of panic.
