Now that she was closer to the water, she could see that it was starting to freeze over. She touched her paw to the water but snatched it back with a screech as the cold water hit her paw. It was freezing! She shivered at the memory, and then jumped almost a food in the air when she heard the snow crunch somewhere behind her. She spun around, her tail already up. She knew she was young and small still but she didn't have an ounce of fear in her. She had a warrior and a hunter as her parents so confidence was pretty much built into her from the start. She was a child of the forest and if there was danger, she knew somehow that she'd find a way to survive. But luckily it didn't seem there was anything to survive today. No, it was just an older male coming toward her. He wasn't much older, maybe a year or so, but the muscles were already starting to ripple under his coat and his eyes already held a wisdom to them that she knew her own lacked. He was black too but had a silver color in his coat that startled her. She didn't remember anyone in Taviora having silver in their coats. It was quite pretty.
He seemed friendly enough, even though his first sound was a growl. She didn't hear any actual aggression linked with it though. It seemed to be more of a greeting. She tilted her head, her ears pricking toward him as she offered a wag of her tail. His first words startled her, her eyes blinking in puzzlement for a minute before her lips quirked into a knowing smirk. So, a flatterer, eh? She snickered, her brow rising. "You just met me and you're already handing out compliments like candy. Aren't you just a charmer?" Her eyes twinkled devilishly. Then he asked what brought her out here and she looked around with a grin. "Why, the snow, of course! I've never seen anything like it!" Then she chuckled, glancing back at her own winter coat as if he should have already noticed it before she shrugged and shook her head. "Of course not, silly. That's what all this thick fur is for. Are you cold?" She couldn't help but be curious now that he'd brought it up.
