Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

The moment he heard the call, he knew what was happening. After all, he'd been having false alarms in his head almost every week for the past month. He wasn't sure exactly how long it took and since this was Inanna's first, she didn't really know either so it was all a guessing game but from his standards, she looked about ready to pop and every time she complained of pain or cramping, he felt sure it had to be time to push. And yet she would either laugh it off or tell he was just being paranoid and it wasn't time yet. He indulged her every time and tried to find some other way to distract himself, otherwise he would just fret over her constantly. When he wasn't hunting, he was worrying about her and whether she was resting enough and eating enough and being healthy the way an expecting mother should be. He couldn't very well have her stressed or too active. This was their first child together! It had to be special.

He worried about being a parent for the first time. Did Natu and Fenrir worry over their first litter? Did they wonder if they would be good parents or if they'd fail epically? He wished he could ask them now more than ever. He wanted to vent to Samia about his fears but he didn't want to stress her and she seemed pretty busy lately with being the pack healer and all the expectant mothers getting ready. He was sure she would be close by in case Inanna and he needed her but otherwise there were probably plenty of other pregnant wolves in need of her attention and he didn't want to burden her with this. After all, surely he was just being silly. And when that call finally did go up, the sea breeze blew it to him and his ears pricked. He dropped the fish he was holding right back into the waves and rushed across the beach toward their den. He couldn't help but skip and hop a few times eagerly, as if that would carry him just a little faster to her when she needed him most.

He even let out a few barks of excitement, wanting the whole world to know that this was it. He was going to be a dad! By the time he reached the den, she was already there and getting comfortable so he rushed to her side, nuzzling and licking her cause he could see her breathing was rapid and she was getting ready to push. "So I guess this is really it this time, eh? Told you it was soon." He teased her gently though he licked at her brows, trying to reassure her that everything was going to be okay and he was here. It actually wasn't as bad as he thought it would be. Maybe he just thought up a nightmare of her crying in pain and cursing him for doing this to her but overall it was just some grunting and pushing and then a sac of gel was there and she tore it open and wah-lah! A pup was born. He was strong and cried out like a newborn should, whimpering and yelping and even making little grumbling noises like a growl as she moved him to her stomach to nurse. And he picked up on it in no time. Thor was transfixed, watching the pup suckle as Inanna groomed the fluids from his coat.

She seemed as proud as he was. He leaned in to nuzzle her forehead softly. "I love you so much, Inanna. I hope you never forget that. He's precious, and you did amazing. What should we name him? Think he'll be a little Triton, god of the sea?" He offered a little smirk, his gaze dancing with light as he looked from her to the pup nursing so ravenously. He was going to be big and strong, Thor was sure of it.
