Everyone knew about the stupid party. All the cubs in Moladion got together to get to know one another and build lasting friendships blah blah blah. That wasn't his reason for going. Zephyr didn't much care for friendship nor did he care for parties. There was only one wolf he was desperate to find and if she was going to be anywhere, it would be there. Aakil, is only saving grace. She had kept the bad thoughts away with her smile, pushed the darkness back with her light. Now that she was gone, he was lost. Part of him wanted to stay lost, to forget the past and just keep roaming until the end. And yet, here he was, moving up the mountain slope towards the sound of voices in search of his light.

A small growl filled his throat upon seeing just how many wolves there were at this gathering. It was only the familiar faces of his brothers that prevented the white wolf from turning right around and darting back down the mountain. Crouching slightly, he walked carefully around the others, not really trying to stay out of sight but more out of the way. Jade eyes watched each pup carefully, trying to find one among them who resembled more fox than wolf. Not seeing her, he trotted towards Zanon and sat behind his littermate without saying a word. Boneskull was the other face he recognized, but he cared little for his half-brother and ignored him completely.

There was a chance Aakil could still turn up. She was a timid beast, after all, and large crowds made her anxious, much like her brother. But Zephyr wouldn't let anyone hurt her. No one would even get near her unless he let them. Carefully, he scanned around the gathering, allowing the chatter to go in one ear and out the other.
