Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

ARGENTO

Outsiders do not give mercy for grogginess, Ruger said, and Gent’s smile slowly faded. The urge to reply with a sarcastic quip filled him like air in a balloon, but the young stallion restrained himself and remained silent to hear the rest of what his counterpart had to say. He could not shake one thought, however: This man needs to lighten up.

A moment of tense quiet passed between them, and Gent met Ruger’s unnerving yellow gaze with determination. Just when it seemed as though they were having a staring contest, the older stallion finally spoke again, breaking the silence. What he had to say next did nothing to soothe Gent’s nerves, however, and Gent could feel his face growing hot with anger, both from being called a fool - not once, but twice - and from the implication that the Lagoon’s natural state was to always be at war with Gent’s childhood home… in other words, to be at war with his family. He thought of sweet, quiet Jetta - his dear sister who would never hurt a fly - and what he would do to any Lagoon bachelor that so much as breathed on her.

The young stallion maintained his composure as best he could, though it was difficult to focus on the rest of what Ruger had to say. He managed a nod to give the illusion of his full attention, and waited until Ruger had finished speaking before opening his mouth.

“I thank you for your blunt honesty,” he said with a nod, “and for your counsel. I’m pleased to hear we at least agree that senseless violence isn’t the way forward. Out of curiosity, however, when was the last time you visited the Peak? I was raised there, and know the mares well; my sister still resides there as a politician, and I can vouch for her character. I know she has no desire for war with the lagoon.”
