Indian Lake: Project Completion at Halfway Mark
Spillway and dam improvements at Indian Lake State Park are at 50 percent completion, according to ODNR. The $7.6 million project is scheduled for completion in Spring, 2018. Workers have finished concrete pouring and installation of the new labyrinth columns that form the new structure along the western half of the 700-foot long spillway. Phase II construction, which includes removal of the eastern half of the existing spillway and replacement with new labyrinth design concrete columns will soon begin. The work also includes placement of articulated concrete blocks in the spillway basin which creates added drainage efficiency and a more aesthetic appearance. Motorists and pedestrians are reminded to observe the presence of workers and equipment at the work site, which is adjacent to the state highway and spillway outflow.
