"Bags of Swank" and Pace Sticks
IP: 31.53.65.157

"Bags of Swank" used to be one of his favourites phrases as he went along twilling his pace stick...guess who?

Perhaps it is a dying art in the modern army? I seem to remember it was 30inches to a pace and there were a set number of paces for quick and slow marches?
Nowadays I see mixed platoons marching through the village and wonder how they manage a female pace of 28inches to the male 30 inches? Is it set at 29 as a compromise? I'll bet the "Wooden Tops" have it in their drill books.

It must be raining outside as I write this rubbish!!! I did intend to cut the grass!!!

Maurice
