She knew her mother was protective over her and she knew it was because she loved her. It was the same reason her dad and Myrria tended to follow her around a lot too. They all loved her and wanted her to be safe. She didn't mind it. She couldn't see anyone having any ill intentions with her or anyone she loved. The world was a magical place, full of wonder and amazing things! There was nothing scary about it. She somehow knew that her mother might follow her on one of her play dates with Aeon. She didn't mind it if she did. She went about as she usually did, pouncing at her best friend without a care in the world. She was satisfied with her successful tackle, giggling herself as he nipped at her muzzle. She smirked before backing off of him so he could sit up. Her tail couldn't stop wagging, even as she heard a sound behind her. Her head snapped around to find none other than Malleah.

Even now she couldn't help but admire her mother. Malleah had such elegance and grace when she walked. She was feminine in everything she did. Lucia only hoped she would be half that when she got older. Her mother called out to Aeon before speaking to Lucia herself, telling her to get off of him for a moment. Her head nodded. "Yes, momma." She stood beside Aeon though, giving him support so he would know not to fear Malleah. Her head tilted in puzzlement when Malleah clicked her teeth. She didn't recall ever seeing her mom do that before. The gesture seemed odd on her usually loving mother, almost dark and enough to make her jaw clench like nails raking on a chalkboard. She didn't like the gesture. She knew that immediately. But then Malleah smiled and Lucia couldn't help but smile back. Maybe her mom was just worried about her. Surely she would see that Aeon was harmless and she would calm down.

Malleah asked Aeon if he knew who she was and Lucia turned to gaze at him, her ears twisted, one toward her mom and the other toward her best friend so she didn't miss anything. She could sense Aeon's uncertainty as he looked at her so she shifted closer, her shoulder pressed against his for comfort. When Malleah asked him, he looked up at her mom but didn't say anything and Lucia scowled, wondering if he didn't understand. She knew he had said he only had limited knowledge of their language. But then he shook his head and turned to look at her again. Lucia gave him a warm reassuring smile. "It's okay, Aeon. This is my mom, Malleah. She wanted to meet you. I told her you're my best friend." She then looked at her mom though she didn't move from her spot beside Aeon. "See, mom? He would never hurt me. Can I still play with him?" Her eyes were pleading as she batted her lashes at her mom. There was nothing atrocious about Aeon, in fact, he was just the opposite. Surely her mom would let her keep her best friend.
