As for Aster and Halcyon, she had yet to come to any tangible conclusions. They were balanced, that much she knew; while he had been ill, Aster had been full of fire and whereas Halcyon was quiet and introspective, Beltane had observed a fierceness in his mate that she seldom saw in others. Balanced but still, she did not know for sure. In any case, they had been who she had decided to pledge herself to and her decision had gone beyond her familial attachment to the plains. The concept of a home was strange but, she had come to accept it into herself. Eventually, it would have a true definnition.
This was her beginning in that regard. But it still felt strange ot her to be given so muc respect for merely existing; when he offered his words, she knew not what to do other than to bow slightly and give a smile. Her eyes were still wide in that unshakable stare though and she fast averted them to the graves, aware that her tendencies could often make others...uncomfortable. She wondered if that had been why she had begun to feel a certain attachment to their leaders - Halcyon had given her more respect than she had ever hungered for and he had been kind even when she barely understood her own words and thoughts.
Whereas she felt comfort in the silence and inaction, Halcyon did not. She grinned in amusement as he seemed to shuffle under the weight of silence. She bowed and followed him on slow strides, her head lowered so that her nose might skim the grass and soil. Her ear turned back - the one she might hear the living world from at least - as her deaf her cupped forward to the earth. As Halcyon spoke, she remained in such a posture, her eyes closed as she breathed in the soil deeply.
