At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

Before the Arcus Irae, the world was in a state of destruction. A cruel, deep set hunger for power among wolves declared wars, murders, and all too much bloodshed. Wolves tore each other apart, barbaric as they contributed to their own ruin. The Gods, disappointed in their creations, wept. These tears would flood the world; and when the water cleared, only a few lupines were spared. The Gods gave these survivors one final gift; the gift of the Arcus Irae. Delicate creatures who carried the souls of the rainbow. These magical beings were creatures of peace and love; a constant reminder to the survivors that, although it was sometimes hard to find, there was always beauty in the world.

But these perfect individuals were some of the frailest creatures, so the Gods assigned the Tempests, another magical creation with bright, luminous blue eyes that could see the intention of others, to guard and protect them. Until their dying breath.

Things became chaotic whenever Duma imprisoned all rainbows. Vera became separated from her parents and instead was placed among the other rainbow pups in their containment. It would be this same group of pups that would escape when Princess Zawyne rescued them, - and only them. These young children were forced to run from the only place they’d ever known as home. None of them would hold any hate in their heart, though; it was, quite literally, against their nature. These beings were created to be pure, and pure they remained. No evil would be seen in them, nor would it ever taint their soul; the thought of maliciousness sometimes even made them feel physically ill.

The small girl acknowledged the large male’s fascination with her. It was a natural response; something Vera was all too familiar with. Who wouldn't be wow'd by a colorful pup? The same mesmerized reaction could be seen in her as her purple hues remained on his towering silhouette. “Vera is my name, of course! My being…? Well, they call us Arcus Irae,” she grinned towards him as if in pride, “I am not acquainted with these lands, - is this common for such awful things to happen to wanderers?!” Though she usually kept a positive attitude, the smile that she held upon her kissers would fade, momentarily replaced by a soft expression of both shock and concern. Vibrant hues of purple reached once again to the male’s magnificent sea foam green ones, seemingly searching for the answer within his expression. Up close, and no longer in a state of panic, Vera could now make out the various flaws in his shadowed coat. The male was intriguing himself; completely the opposite of her. Her delicate body would hopefully never obtain as much as one scar, however this beast had many. A twinge of sadness crept into the back of her pastel blue cranium as she wondered how he’d obtained them.

Then the massive brute bowed his great crown before her, and a small giggle erupted from her tiny pink maw as she replicated the same action. “It’s nice to meet you, Néphelim!” , her cheerful voice burst out excitedly, “I am very far from home, too. This terrible solider captured all of us! But then Princess Zawyne rescued us! We went through this.. odd thing, and it brought us here. That’s when I lost all of the others but I know they must be here somewhere!” The small girl could feel the presence of the other rainbows, as well as the Tempests. But there were multiple of both; meaning that Vera felt various leads that pulled her to follow them. It was causing her senses to become confused and disoriented. “Tempests are.. good. They have pretty, blue eyes that glow!” She felt inclined to tell the brute more, to tell him everything, but she knew that she would be rambling.

“I do need to find the Tempests.. or Princess Zawyne and Losa, or at least the other rainbows. I have no clue where to start, but I think it’s pretty important,” she tilted her crown thoughtfully before quickly redirecting her attention back to him, purple hues immediately full of amazement. “I wouldn't mind the company, and I would absolutely love to hear about yourself! This long story of yours, - would you tell me, one day?” The small fae stood high upon her toes now, leaning upwards and also closer to the male, a widened smile plastered on her maw as she awaited his answer.
