aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

She had reached out to comfort him as he stumbled over his words, not understanding that he was not upset because he thought she was gone, he was upset because she had died and his dreams. At any rate, he pulled away from her and had wiped away his tears so that she would not see them flow freely from his pools. Sera even apologized for being gone so long from the den, jesting at him. She had reached out briefly and nudged at him with her paw, but the moment was only brief, hardly but a second since he had pulled away. It wasn't that he didn't trust her with his emotions, he did… He just did not want her to stop seeing him as strong, as someone who could protect her. And to him? Tears were a weakness. But soon enough, his fears and his nightmare was forgotten, as she served him a small breakfast of coney. Vlad had returned the jest by complementing her on her service, but she did not put up with that for one second and had swiftly demanded that he bring her breakfast next time. He nodded his head slowly, a lopsided grin upon his face. She had said 'tomorrow'. She meant for them to have a tomorrow. For whatever reason, he had difficulty comprehending that. After all, she had said that she loved him too, but he was still thinking that he would wake up from this and have this be the dream - that they were meant for each other and loved each other.

The pair had eaten in silence, but the quiet did not last long… Considering that the meal did not last long! As soon as they were both finished, the conversation continued on, and the pair decided where they should start their search for their den. It had taken the prince a few awkward stuttering moments to wrap his head around the fact that again, this was real. That they were a couple, and that they would be together forever. And, moreover, she wanted that too. And then he had gone on with suggestions-he had suggested starting south by the lake. They had spent most of their puphood there, both with Castiel and without him. Although, to be fair, it would be more accurate to say that they had spent most of their time in the caves by the lake, and not at the lake itself. So perhaps that would be where they would start-the caves by the lake. He said as much, and she wholeheartedly agreed, and rose to her paws. She began to head that way, but stopped when he stopped, and listened to him as he once again stuttered.

It was an awkward conversation to say the least. Both of them were young and inexperienced when it came to the more adult and intimate aspects of a romantic relationship. He had hardly know how to bring it up, but it did not seem to faze her at all. She move closer to him and gently bumped against him, reassuring him once again that being with him was what she wanted. A new anxiety grew within him despite her comforting words-after all, as previously stated, he was inexperienced. He had never had a girlfriend before, and Seraphina had been his only friend who was a girl. He had had a few brief stumbling conversations with his father about it all… Where babies came from and all that. But he had never… Experienced it. In theory, he knew how it all worked, but in all actuality he was at a loss. Because he did not know what else to say, he once again confessed his love for her and promised himself to her. In response, she blushed and turned away, and though she had moved away from him quickly, the heat in her cheeks did not go on noticed by him. Nothing that she felt whatever go unnoticed by him again, so long as he was beside her. Her emotions flared up like a warning flags around her, though not necessarily and warning but an advertisement. She was a beautiful array of pinks and oranges normally, but a swell of red had come piercing through as soon as she turned away, the color of her heart. In response, Vladimir had moved his paws and used his greater stride to get beside her quickly, and walked beside her in silence for the duration of the trip. He kept close, his hair brushing the tips of hers, and everyone's in a while he would reach out and touch his nose gently to her shoulder, as if to see if she was still there. To see if she was still real, and to see if the dream that he was living would not suddenly end. Each time, his snout touched first for and then flesh, and a shell of a smile would grace his kissers as he wondered in amazement how fate had been this kind.

They were not far from the lake where they had started, and yet you still seem to take longer than it should have. At any rate, the child in silence together until finally they came upon the lake. She may have been able to pull her gaze away from it, focused upon her task, but Vladimir found himself shocked. He had grown up in this pack, and he had always considered the lake impenetrable. But now, he could actually see the other side of it, and more than that he could see mountains beyond it. They lifted high above the level of the water, reaching up toward the sky. They had never been there before, and it both amazed and terrified the prince. There had only ever been one singular peek in this territory-and it had been directly in the center. But now, they stream of peaks curled around not only the lake, but it seems that they continued north, dotting the entire western boundary of Dierne Hrof.

'I've found the caves!'

Her soprano tore his view away from the glistening waters and the icy peaks, and he turned and trotted toward the woods again. He had no trouble finding her, considering that the caves were surprisingly exactly where they had been before the transformation. He had not found her outside of the mouth though, and without hesitation, he had dipped his snout into the darkness. Briefly his memory snapped back to the first time that they had found this cave, and had run into it in order to hide from the pretend demons that they were fleeing from. The second time, And the next few times after that, they had simply played in this first part of the cave. Using it as their hide out. But one of the last times that they were here, or perhaps the very last time that they were here, had been when he and she had truly bonded, when he had fully fallen for her. It was as iconic a place as any for the pair of them, and he could not think of a better place to name as their den. He had expected to be blinded by the darkness, especially since he had walked in from stark daylight, but he was surprised to find that he saw well in the darkness. Not as well as he did in the daylight, but he could see everything and generous detail. Especially his lovely mate. " One of the things I have always loved about you is how unique you are. I know that among your people, you have the standard coloring for your coat, but here you are one in 1 million. And to me you're even much rarer than that." Vladimir stepped forward and pushed his chin under hers, nuzzling her. A sudden and sharp wharf spread through his abdomen, and he felt a yearning that he had never felt before, a throbbing in parts that had never throbbed. He felt awkward and self-conscious, and suddenly for the first time in his life was shy and timid.

With a great deal of hesitation, he reached out to allow his tongue to caress the opposite side of her jaw, and pulled back ever so slightly so that it would run under her throat and then moved up the near side so it ran toward her ear. It's flipped around the base of it, and circling it, before he nipped playfully at the outer wall of her audette. Nervously, he chuckled, but stopped abruptly as he realized his vocals were deeper than normal, huskier. "Umm… Sorry. I just… Do you… You make me feel… Funny. Not funny! I just… Want you…?" even though he knew she could not see him in the darkness, he shrugged his shoulders and lowered his head, averting his gaze toward the ground. His body was instinctually trying to tell him what to do, but he was still having difficulty getting over the fact that she was no longer just his friend, but his meat. They were in the most intimate of settings… and he was terrified to take the next step.
