News - 6/19/21
Summer is here and Fall is short around the corner. There is unrest as it stands but, perhaps it is to our advantage. Let no one question our strength. Those who wish to speak on rank, seek me out. If anyone wishes to put a hunt together inform me. Adults or others who wish to rise in rank may seek me out.

Why did things always go to pot?

After a short season where I had grown QUITE far from pregnancy things had taken a turn for the worse. Halcyon had been rather ill about Elohim and I wasn't privy to the reason why, honestly, but I ignored it for the sheer sake of growing and providing life for the brood I carried. What a brood they were, too, with the way my side rounded until I was certain I would split in two. Two whole Aster's walking around. What a sight that would be. Truth be told, I was miserable, and to top it off, Halcyon grew suddenly so violently ill it had scared me into a false labor. His brother was treating him once more but I feared.... well would this illness ever completely abate? I remember tales of the old forest king, Amoxtli, and I felt despair. What was happening to the alphas of Molodian?

So I took the reins once more despite my wretched state. If another came calling then it would be over. There was no way I could fight like this without risking my children and so I fretted that too until my chest ached, until my belly cramped, and as the morning dawns with a chilly drizzle from a cold front, I find my mood much foul. Hunger was a constant for me with such a figure and my paws were so swollen at times it hurt to hunt, to walk, to even lay still. I rolled off my side with a deep, visceral groan, and it took two tries.l before I could get my feet under me. Yet the moment I pressed up I felt something contract and then a pressure at my hind end followed by a warmth that made me pause, made my breath stop. Turning my nose around to sniff was almost impossible with my belly the size it was but I knew what it was.

It was time.

So I didn't even bother getting up. I just lay right there in the middle of Asteraia as the rain came gentle and the pain started at a slow pace. I hurt to much to move anyways but the contractions weren't nearly as bad as the pain I had dealt with before. At first. I lift my muzzle suddenly and let out a howl calling for.. well... anyone. Halcyon could barely move and I felt such sorrow that I would be without him during this. It bit at me but I needed... someone. My grandfather or anyone! I bit down hard so that my teeth mashed together as I struggled until my eyes crossed and I became rather dazed.

I don't remember the first pup coming, only the panting relief after, and vaguely recall dragging him to my belly with a feeble lick. A boy! A son! An heir! But then my contractions continued. A girl! A daughter! Another heir! And so it went twice more - another boy the another girl. FOUR pups. Four heirs. As I lick them with a low wine, my tail thumping slightly, I feel my world shift. I loved Halcyon but he no longer sat in the middle of my love - they did. Each little black, russet, cinnamon, gray, little pup. "Aspis, for your bite is like a snake," I whisper to the first boy who pinched me with a stout snout.

"Archana, my regal girl," I say, tongue washing over her. "Idrisa... you remind me of your father and I think he would like a reminder of his own." I smile happily. "Perun.... your cry is as mighty as thunder."
