Misty Mountain is opposite of Rainbow Cliff. Mists hover year-round at this high altitude, mistaken by some to be thin clouds. Thin layers of snow cover the mountain, making some areas slippery and hazardous.

Some think it romantic, a place to bring their mates, while others come to play and romp. However, all must agree that there is some level of mystery and spookiness hovering about with the mists...

Some are born great
Some achieve greatness

Vladimir had offered up the suggestion that they travel to his own pack. Even though the prince had not come cross any vampires, logic told him that if there were rainbows in Blossom Forrest, that there were also vampires. Since it was his job to protect the rainbows, especially this one since he had bonded with him, he could think of no safer place for them than at Dierne Hrof. After all, to tempests live there, which meant that no band Peyer would be able to enter its boundaries. But more than that, there were two things that he did not know even. First, was that his niece Pandora had returned home, and had joined the pack as well, making it home to three tempests. However, the other thing that he had yet to discover what is that vampires could make Mesmers. No matter how many tempests lived with in a pack, they could still pass through the boundary if they so desire. They could be used to infiltrate the ranks and do the dirty work of the vampires. Only time would tell whether this ever occurred or not. At any rate, it was the best plan that Vladimir could come up with, and it was the plan he was sticking with. Especially considering that Scamander also thought it was a good idea. The purple and green painted pup excitedly followed after him, explaining exactly who the two princesses were and some of what had happened to him. Quietly, Vladimir nodded along, trying to think of a plan. Or, to be more accurate, tried to wrap his head around what had happened. It all had to be connected-there was no way any of this was a coincidence. Yes, magic had been re-released into the world, which had shifted all of the packs in the lands, along with making him a tempest and making others into vampires. But how was that all related to the rainbows? And why now? And what… What exactly had happened in this faraway kingdom to force the rainbows to run?

However, his worry did not last long. He soon realized that being in the presence of the rainbows had a calming and soothing effect. The conversation turned to a meal, and Vladimir merely nodded. There were many options for small prey, and he knew where there was an active borough of groundhogs. It would be enough to at least to sustain the little pup. when Scamander admitted that he did not know how to hunt, Vladimir shook his head and smiled down at him. "You do not need to apologize. I did not often hunts when I was a pup either-my parents caught me meals. The only thing I hunted after was imaginary things. If you would like, once you get used to your new home, and perhaps after we find some of your friends, I will teach you all to hunt. Or… Perhaps since it will be a safer option for you, I will teach you how to fish. Have you ever had fish before?" Just like his father, his grandfather, and most other wolves and his family, Vladimir hated fish. He hated the texture of it as it slid over his tongue, he hated the oil he juices that ran out when you bit into it. He hated the fish smell, and he hated the taste. But he had to admit-if you learned how to fish well, it was just about the safest meal that you could catch for yourself. Luckily force commander, Ladimir had grudgingly learned how to fish from the prior healer of the pack, and still was relatively decent at it. Even more fortunate-the pack could now post its own lake. But… First things first.

Eventually the pair descended from the mountain chain. Vladimir made sure that he went slowly down the path, constantly looking back toward the pup and ready to catch him if he had to. It would not be optimal-he was not supposed to touch any rainbow, especially the ones that he was bonded to, but he would rather risk the consequences then have the pup fall to his doom. With any luck at all, it would make it to the bottom with ease. They were at the southernmost aspect of Dierne Hrof, on the far side of the lake, almost exactly opposite to wear his den now was with Seraphina. Vladimir reached out to nuzzle the pup and gently push him into a nearby cranny in the rock wall, but remember that last moment not to touch it. It was a hard thing to remember-after all, he had been shown affection constantly when he was young himself, and he felt an instant paternal instinct to care for the young brute. " go hide in there and don't come out until I return. You should be safe within the boundaries of this pack, but at least it will be a good place for you to rest in there. I will return once I have a meal for you." Ladimir had no doubt that the pup would be safe, but seeing as this was his first and only ward, he did not want to take any chances. He paused a moment to see if Scamander had anything to say, but elsewise he took off at a gallop as soon as commander was fully engulfed in the darkness of the miniature cave. His paws pounded against the earth, the soft silt giving way to his weight as he made his way around the shore. The den of the groundhogs was near where he now called home with his mate, and it took him only about half an hour to circumvent the lake. He slowed to a trot and then a walk, lowering his entire body to the ground. His blue eyes glance toward the lake, and he smiled, and went toward it and rolled in the wet silt, hiding his scent. He could only hope that it would work, and he once again began to creep toward the den. There are a few expose groundhogs, foraging in the nearby grass. He took advantage of that reads that surrounded part of the lake in this area and crept through them. Anytime the ground hogs looked about, he froze. Patience for once helped him, and see if he was close enough to Leap. But he knew how quickly they moved, and risk taking one step closer -it was exactly what he needed. He leapt, and came to land closer to the den than the nearest groundhog. It worked perfectly. The groundhog had made to run toward the den, and instead landed underneath Vladimir's outstretched claws. His job was open, ready, and he immediately reached out and snap the neck of the groundhog. He picked it up, it's now limp corpse swaying gently between his teeth as he took off at a canter back toward where he had left the pup. Another half hour past and he was back. Vladimir dropped the groundhog onto the ground and looked toward the nook. " Scamander? I brought you a meal…"
