Where had they gotten their attitudes from? She couldn't help but shake her head with a broad grin, rolling her eyes as they threw about their quips. Perhaps it had been Pan's father or mother they'd inherited it from - certainly not hers! But she was glad for it in any case. In her eyes, it meant they were truly a family if their jests were taken so graciously. She'd seen others who could not take such jokes and games (her mind instintively drifted towards that strange man Tychon but she was quick to dismiss him, not wanting to sour her thoughts.)

She tested the girl's name to herself for a moment, a quiet whisper beneath her breath before she grinned to herself, satisfied with that knowledge. Though she had little experience with the woman, she knew her by name and creed at least; she was a fair thing to look at and never had she been cruel or misguided. If there were a wolf in Spirane who Niviaq had sought out to teach healing, it might have been Aurelia alongside Moonfeather and Moonstone. Alas, she was a scout though Niviaq figured it would make sense for her son to pursue a woman like that: Baird had never been the type, she figured, to settle for somebody passive.

She noticed her daughter's response, however, when Baird mentioned that Aurelia had not simply chosen him for the winter and she watched Panik for several moments with an almost curious grin. It was not the response she had expected, after all! "These things are inconsequential, my dears. We are capable of many loves in our lifetime and every child needs a family, no matter how it's made." After all, she had bore children to another besides Pan (a man she knew was waiting for her in the stars as well and a man she knew Pan would surely be rolling his eyes at with his tales of moondust and magic) and she had taken other children under her wing and given them a place to call home and a family to call their own. Blood, she thought, was nothing but biology - family was something else, something deeper and more complex.

"I hope to meet her too though, Baird. Perhaps as a family, no? Panik and I could find some voles to bring her and the children once they are grown more. What do you think?" There was something in her voice that suggested she had left something unsaid and, surely, she had. She pursed her lips ever so slightly as her head tilted. She knew her time was coming but she wanted to at least share a story and some games with her grandchildren before she moved on. She had failed Bazyl and Safe in that regard, perhaps, though she hadn't the energy to seek them out in Diveen or Taviora.

But Baird's children...at least she could be there for them even if it was only for their childhood.
