Many wolves looking for relaxation come to Blossom Field. A gentle breeze vibrating the blossoming flowers is quite a sight to see and it is quite a favourite for wolves to come with their mates.

A recent fire has ruined the scenery, half the field covered with soot and marked with scars of the flames. The other half is untouched, however.

Like so many of her companions, young Fairuz had never anticipated or imagined such a horrific event to befall their beloved kingdom. The Arcus Irae had been the harbingers of peaceful times and though the threat of danger was not totally unheard of (else why would the Fehrward exist?), Fairuz for the most part knew little beyond the social circle of her family, other rainbows, and only a just enough about the guards that served them. There was no way that she could have ever prepared herself for what had happened, even if given fair warning. So much of it felt like a terrible nightmare - surreal even. But the terror that she felt was real - so very real - and that only terrified her more.

The rainbow flecked pup had always understood that the Fehrward were there to protect them, to keep the Arcus Irae from harm. They were delicate and special creatures, meant to bring light and hope into the reborn world. However, her family had been sure to instill upon her as soon as possible the laws governing the relationships between the Rainbows and their protectors - that even though the Tempests were trustworthy and loyal to the cause of keeping them safe, it was of upmost importance that they keep their distance and never touch. The reason why had never been made abundantly clear to the young femme, but she caught on to the fact that it was truly a serious matter and did exactly as she was instructed. Fairuz had never been very familiar with her family's Tempest, Jag, but she'd always seen the black wolf somewhere in the shadows - a constant and familiar presence. Though she'd grown accustomed to him, she still couldn't help but find the mysterious wolf a little unnerving - much in the way that a kid might find a stern-faced police officer frightening until they discover that they are truly just another person beneath that formal exterior.

However at this very moment, Fairuz desperately wished even for that - something or anything that she knew. After crossing the threshold between the worlds in the wake of the Princesses and other pups, Fairuz had not expected to find herself alone but she had ended up exactly that- alone, among patches of dry autumn grass and wildflowers, most already past their peak and seeding out at this point in the season. The scents that assaulted her tourmaline-pink nose were entirely foreign and the sounds, too, were not what she was accustomed to. Somewhere in the far distance another wolf howled in the night but it was not a familiar voice either - but with all that had happened, Fairuz was not sure that she wanted to draw attention to herself just yet.

Hunkering down in the autumn field, the opal colored youngster struggled with the fear that made her heart hammer like that of a tiny hummingbird's. Where was she? And better yet, where was everyone else? Her turquoise eyes are wide as saucers as she dares to raise her head and peer above the grasses at the surroundings to get a better sense of the answers. Though she by no means of a physical sense could pinpoint the familiar presence of any of the other rainbows, some instinctual sense told her they were out there somewhere.

A sound startles the young femme and she reflexively crouches lower, afraid. She dares not even look - thinking that perhaps if she did not see whomever it was, they would not see her - but then he speaks. She is not familiar with the gruff voice, but she recognizes it instantly and raises her head quickly to look upon the broad-shouldered and cream-coated male who it belonged to. It was the guard who'd followed their group to ensure their safety and escape; and in her moment of hesitation when every second mattered, he'd been the one to urge her after the rest of the group.

Finding a timid willpower to stand, Fairuz turns to face the male, cautiousness and uncertainty still in her posture as she peered around in the darkness. "Where are we?" Her voice was as small as she was, but she spoke smoothly and without stuttering. The pup found a measure of comfort in the male's presence and gazed up at him briefly, studying him in the dim light, but the freshness of their daring escape weighed too heavily on her mind and she did not study him long before looking worriedly around. "Will they find us here too?"
