aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

My Philosophy is that Worrying Means You Suffer Twice

Yellow and purple orbs looked up to his guardian as he began to explain briefly what had happened to him and the rest of the rainbows that had been trapped. He still did not understand fully why it had happened to him, but the fear of it was still fresh in his mind. He knew once he sat down and told the whole story it would be hard to do so, not wanting to relive the memories of what had happened. But a brief summary for now was needed for Vladimir to understand what was going on. The pup had to keep reminding himself that they were just memories and that he was safe now. The Tempest would make sure he was safe, he knew that he would. Even though Scamander had only just met Vladimir, something was telling him that he could trust him. There had been a special spark between them, and he felt more comfortable being with the older male than without him. Even if they still were somewhat strangers to each other.

Talk continued easily between the two males as their topic changed to food and what Scamander needed. He admitted that he didn’t know how to hunt, and he was worried that Vladimir would be annoyed with him, but he was not. His purple swirled muzzle smiled back as he listened to the Tempest talk. The thought of being back with the other rainbows and learning how to hunt together was appealing to him. Often times Scamander enjoyed the company of only himself, but he still wanted to know that the others were okay and spending some time with them would be good. The young Arcus Irae shook his head at the question, ”No, I’ve never had fish before. Are they hard to catch? What if you fall in the water? Do you know how to swim?” After they finished their chat about what to eat, the paid began to head towards Vladimir’s home, Dierne Hrof. Scamander had already traveled a long way to get to Blossom, and once they started moving again he realized how tired he was. His small muscles cried out for him to rest and not go on anymore, but he needed to make it somewhere safe. Vladimir could probably watch over him out here in the mountains, but Scamander would feel more comfortable if they were back at his pack.

Shorter emerald stilts tried to keep pace with the older brute, but he kept lagging behind, becoming more tired as the traveled. He kept telling himself that they would be there soon, and that he didn’t want to have to give up on his first day with Vladimir. Scamander’s gaze stayed fix to the ground underneath him, making his way carefully down from rock to rock, not even realizing that his guardian was watching his every move should he stumble. Luckily after some time he made it back down to the ground in one piece. The pup panted as he tried catching his breath before they continued, and he wondered how he had even made it up to where Vladimir was in the first place. After sometime they made it to where Vladimir lived, and he showed Scamander a den where he could rest, "Go hide in there and don't come out until I return. You should be safe within the boundaries of this pack, but at least it will be a good place for you to rest in there. I will return once I have a meal for you.” He noticed how Vladimir reached out to touch him before he pulled back. The pup knew that they were not supposed to touch, but he also remembered his parents still and how they had been affectionate with him. Would he find that again here? Or would he never be allowed to touch another while he was in these lands?

The pup smiled to Vladimir, glad that he was letting him stay here to rest while he went out to hunt. ”Thank you, Vladimir.” Green paws led him into the covered area, curling up to nap and falling asleep almost immediately. He didn’t realize how exhausted he was from all the traveling he had done, and it was easy for him to fall asleep once the Tempest said he was safe here. The pup slept soundly until the grey brute came to wake him with the meal. Scamander forced his eyes open when he heard Vladimir’s voice, knowing how hungry he was despite being tired. He let out a yawn as he got to his paws slowly and made his way back to the brute, the scent of the fresh catch waking up him more. His mouth began to water at the smell of it. His dark purple plume wagged behind him at the thought of the meal, even more thankful that he had found Vladimir. He never would have been able to catch a meal like this on his own. ”Thanks!” He quickly tore into the meal, the fresh meat warm and tasty on his tongue. When he was done he licked at his purple hued muzzle, mismatched orbs looking back to the older brute. ”So, what do we do now?”
