Only You Are the Life Among the Dead

The female was excited to meet new wolves, it seemed like it had been long time since she had interacted with a stranger. Even though Khaleesi was an adult, she never lost the ability to be excited by almost everything in life, just like when she was a pup. She was happy to be back home in Dierne Hrof, but being with the same wolves everyday could grow boring. The only other varg she had encountered was Cynbel. He seemed nice, and the pair seemed to get along well. So she felt that she had made a new friend with him. But before she used to explore all areas of Blossom, encountering new wolves all the time. Being a teen had been the best time. She had been old enough to explore on her own and not need to worry, but also young enough to not have any responsibilities. If she could go back and never age, she would. But she had to be realistic about the world now. With her mother gone, she had responsibilities to the pack. She was the only healer there now, and would need to be prepared for anything that could happen. Luckily for her, nothing had had, and she hoped it wouldn’t. So far life as the healer of Dierne Hrof had been stress free, but she wondered how long that would last.

As the femme waited patiently at the borders of the pack, she realized it was getting dark. It had taken her some time to travel from Dierne Hrof to Caidir Olc, and it had been late afternoon when she arrived at the borders. Her vocals had traveled through the pack, letting them know she was here and friendly. But no one had come to greet her. Her brow furrowed, wondering if there was something wrong. Normally it didn’t take long for a patrol or one within the pack to come and investigate a stranger at the borders, but it had been longer than she had anticipated. Was there no one living here anymore? She didn’t think that was the case, the borders seemed freshly marked and patrolled. So why had no one come to meet her? Khaleesi didn’t even think of the possibility that it could be a pack filled mostly with vampires, not yet knowing that such creatures existed. But she would soon find out that that was exactly why she was still waiting here as the sun began to set.

After some time had passed, the femme found an area that was not damp like a lot of the area was with all the marshes, and she lay down. She had slept recently, and didn’t feel like napping especially if someone were to come by. So she remained alert, plume wrapped around her hind limbs as she tucked her paws under her. Green orbs continued to explore the area around her, listening carefully should someone approach. When the sun had fully set, Khaleesi wondered if she should head back. But she had come all this way, and didn’t want to disappoint Aindreas by returning with no information. So she decided she would wait it out a bit longer. She was glad that she did so when she heard the sound of a varg approaching. The snow white femme rose to her paws, stretching out her limbs that had been resting, padding closer to the border. She waited patiently, but was surprised to see the form of a darkly colored pup come through the trees so soon. How had she not smelt the stranger approaching? Maybe she was more tired than she realized.

Khaleesi smiled warmly at the pup, always enjoying being around the young and energetic beings. This young femme had startling red eyes, unlike anything Khaleesi had ever seen, and she wondered if it was some sort of genetic defect. The pup seemed mature for her age, introducing herself and questioning why the stranger was there as if she was an adult ranked wolf. “Excuse me miss, mind if I ask what you are doing at the borders of Caidir Olc? My name is Diosa, you are?” The ivory femme smiled in return to Diosa. ”Hello Diosa, it’s nice to meet you. My name is Khaleesi, I’m from a pack called Dierne Hrof. I came here on behalf of my alpha, Aindreas, to see what changes have happened to your pack. Dierne Hrof changed drastically, so we wanted to scout out the rest of the packs.” She paused for a moment, wondering if the pup had even been around or aware enough to notice the change. ”Do you remember if your home changed recently?” Her head cocked to the side, wondering what information she could gain from the pup, and if the alpha of Caidir Olc would end up joining them or not. But she was not opposed to chatting with Diosa, she was still curious about her eyes, and seemingly lack of scent.
