Jai-5 carryover: $10    (Just kidding)

Re(1): Op Ed: New Treasury regulations redefining ''the amount of a wager''

One thing I haven't seen addressed is the "single ticket" requirement and its implications.

If you have a pick 6 package where the individual picks are structurally related, eg { 2 picks / x 3 / x 2 / x 4 / x 1 / x 3 },
that would total $144 and might easily go on 1 ticket.

But what about some deluded individual with a long list of "due numbers" - each one unrelated to the others - that requires multiple tickets?

Another example would be jai-alai's superfecta. If you bet the best 80 or so combos for any given winning post, that is pretty close to an $80 win bet, where only a low frequency outcome will burn you.

I have done this many times (but usually at the 10 cent level) and there is no way my combos are going to fit into 1 ticket or transaction.

It appears that an analytical bettor who does't use a simple { a * b * c * d * e * f } formula gets screwed.

And what if the teller or self-service bettor makes an ommission which is then put on an additional ticket? How would that be handled?

Anyone seen any discussion of this?
