Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

Winter was pleasant; it’s been a few years since he remembered enjoying anything, but following Ti-Ouroah was fulfilling. She disappeared sometimes, but wolves did that. She was attending her own needs, and he was content to sleep while she was away. Kweku had noticed her restlessness, though. She never stayed still. If she wasn’t hunting, she was searching. If they weren’t playing, she was traveling. He had never moved from one place to the next so swiftly, but it kept him alert, and being on the move kept his paws tracking prey. The abyss of hunger had yet to claim his mind. Ti-Ouroah had a bit to do with that; she was phenomenal in the hunt. Sometimes, he liked to sit and simply watch her work.

She seemed in the mood, judging by the bloodthirsty glint in her dazzling eyes. His silver gaze tracked the swell of power originate in her lovely hindquarters and ignite a sprint within two strides. Kweku’s teeth snapped and he waited a half a second before he charged after. Snow was tossed up in mini blizzards behind the sprinting pair. Though he was unable to catch up with her, Kweku managed to keep the distance between them from growing; he was getting better with the explosive tendencies of his employer.

On a dime, the ebony-cloaked female pivoted to face him. He saw the tension in her features that displayed the violent need she seemed both unable to contain and unsure how to deal with. Kweku’s fangs flashed out and he stalled his sprint into a skip and rear as she came at him. He attempted to tuck his paws over her shoulders as their jaws combatted - he wanted to push her into the snow and hug her beneath his bulk. Kweku growled, deep and thundering at her, eager for her to unleash more vigor in her affection assault.

He failed to push her into the ground, put their play continued and she managed to sink her teeth into the side of his neck, just before his shoulder. The pinch of her teeth excited him as much as the scent of blood did. The wound was minor - barely scraping through the first two layers of skin. He pushed his shoulder into hers and drove after her scruff, intending to return the tantalizing wound to the skin there.

When he had (of if he did), however, his nose detected something new. He landed all four of his paws solidly into the ground, his ears alert. If Ti-Ouroah meant to continue playing in that moment, then she would land the full intent of whatever bite she tried, though if she tried to push him, she would find herself coming at a pillar of stone. For a few seconds, he was a gargoyle, vigilantly observing some far off threat. Kweku’s tail rose above his haunches and he trotted a few paces in the direction of the thing he’d detected. He thought it was a predator judging by the scent… Kweku was more concerned if it was a wolf. This was their place, however temporarily, and he didn’t want strangers invading whatever hunt or meal he and Ti-Ouroah would to secure later.

"Come out!"

He barked loudly, intending to flush whatever it was in the trees.
