Firstly, we would like to say thank you to everyone who responded to our recent vote about the new rule change – you guys make this game and we value your help in trying to make it better. Now that most of our active members have replied, we have declared that vote officially closed and are ready to announce the results. All of these rule changes go into effect immediately following this announcement, and the official rules page will be updated to reflect this as soon as possible.

TOPIC 1 – HERD LEADER CAPTIVES WINNER: OPTION B When a herd leader is taken as captive in place of losing a herd member in a battle or steal they are no longer able to defend against or initiate their own challenges, steals or raids during their captivity. Their territory cannot be claimed during this time, but can still be challenged for, raided and stolen from. The herd leader should appoint a temporary figurehead to lead the herd and defend against these threats in their absence. This makes captivity greater risk for the reward and more realistic in the way one would expect a ‘captive’ to behave.

TOPIC 2 – BATTLE EXPERIENCE WINNER: OPTION C The current battle experience points-based system is now being replaced with a simpler rank-based system. This will be recorded on the legends page for players to consult and updated regularly by the mods. All battles since the re-opening of the site will be counted on the initial update.
New characters are considered unranked and have no advantage in battle, but after completing a certain number of battles they move up through different ranks and receive small bonuses in combat (see following ranks and rewards). Battles that are cancelled or invalid do not count. Default battles count if at least one full post had been written. Practice battles may be counted but only 1 per season.
Rank 1 – 5 Battles
Receive 1 extra side of the dice in dice roll battles, and 1 bonus point added to total score in RP battle judgements.
Rank 2 – 10 Battles
Receive 2 extra sides of the dice in dice roll battles, and 2 bonus points added to total score in RP battle judgements.
Rank 3 – 20 Battles
Receive 3 extra sides of the dice in dice roll battles, and 3 bonus points added to total score in RP battle judgements.

TOPIC 3 – CHIMERA OPTIONS WINNER: OPTION D As of next breeding season more ways for chimera expression will be available for new foals, with the full selection now being brindling, patches/spots, and no visible expression. When a chimera is created, the player of the foal may choose how it is expressed and should notify the appropriate mod on the foaling board so that this can be added to the stats.

TOPIC 4 – PEAK/LAGOON ELECTIONS WINNER: OPTION B Peak and Lagoon elections will now be held regularly, once every TLI year, instead of requiring a mutiny. We will post a reminder about the upcoming election at the start of the season and the official vote will be posted at the end of the season, allowing time for characters to campaign or otherwise try to influence votes IC if they wish to.
There is no limit to the amount of times the same character can be re-elected. For simplicity’s sake, although votes in the past have always been decided by true ‘majority’ vote, they will now be decided simply by the highest number of votes.
In the event of a tie for Marauder/Codebreaker or General positions, the Boss/Prime Minister casts the deciding vote. In the event of a tie for the position of the Boss/Prime Minister the current leader remains or, if the tie is between 2 new contenders, the current leader may cast the deciding vote to determine their successor.
Since both the Peak and Lagoon had somewhat recent votes, we will announce this first regular vote at the start of the next TLI summer, then every TLI summer after that.
