aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Although he knew who the vocals belonged to, he shook his head once or twice to clear the sleep from his mind. It had taken a while for the sound to reach the prince, and by the time it reached him it was distorted and quiet. Once it entered his audettes, it had awoken him from the middle of a nap. Vladimir set about trying to figure whether the voice had been from his dream, or real life. But Adara had not been in his dream, so it would make no sense for it to have come from his subconscious. It must be real - but the brute could not remember the last time he saw his half sister. Months at least, if not more. He had only met her once or twice after all. Vladimir rose from the ground, carefully extricating himself from Seraphina. He did not want to wake her… Not when she looked so peaceful resting within their home. But if it was his sister, then they would have much to talk about between the rainbows appearing, the magic that change the land… And of course the danger they all now faced from the vampires. He did not want to leave his rainbow alone, not when they had only just recently met. And besides, there was a chance Adara had become a Tempest as well - perhaps she would bond with him and be able to protect him also. Quietly, Vladimir moved to the back of the cave, following the curving, sloping walls. There is an outcropping that turned into a grand hall, and that’s where he went. It had been the first tunnel that Vladimir and Seraphina had explored of their home, and the only one so far. But that was where they had set up Scamander to have his own home, his own den. It would keep him safe from prying eyes, and put Vladimir and Seraphina between him and danger. It helped that the glowworm‘s on the ceiling seemed to intrigue the pup, just like they had intrigued Vladimir and Sera. Gently, Vladimir called to Scamander.

Wake up little one, I have someone that you should meet. My half sister may also be a Tempest, so it will be good for you to know her. If I am right, she is not so far away, just a few hours travel to the east. Are you up for it now? Or do you need to rest a little longer?” Vladimir paused to wait for Scamander’s response before creeping quietly out of the cave.

Vladimir headed toward the east, the best place that he could figure that the call, and therefore his sister, came from. He moved slow enough that he knew that Scamander would be able to keep up. Part of him wished that he could just scoop up the pup and gallop to the border... but that was not feasible, not for Tempest and his rainbow. And so the trip took longer than it would have otherwise, but it gave Vladimir plenty of time to consider his aunt. What he couldn’t reckon, was why she was here. It wasn’t that he was upset to see her, or that he did not want to see her, but it was odd, really. She had once been part of a different pack, but had been a loner for a long time, or at least that’s what Aindreas had told everyone. Vladimir wondered briefly if she had changed to - after all, she was part of their bloodline. If had she been in the land when the magic had struck, would she be an Oferweder or a Haeld? The thought of seeing his sister made his heart ache - how dearly he missed his full brother, Castiel. Vladimir had been angry enough with his parents were when they had abandoned him, but for his brother to leave him to? It had been as if the largest bear had taken him and shredded apart his rib cage, tearing deep gashes in his heart. They had been two peas in a pod, Yin and Yang, inseparable best friends. But then it had all changed, and they had separated. Castiel had left without so much as a goodbye, and the prince still could not help but wonder if something had happened to him. What other explanation could there be?

The pair traveled mostly in silence - Vladimir was still trying to fully wake up, and he imagine the pup was as well. But when they finally came to the border, Vladimir noticed his aunt had with her yet another rainbow. And he noticed, of course he noticed, that her eyes, though they had always been blue, now showed with an eerie glow. She had turned after all-the question now was which type of tempest was she? As for the rainbow out her side, Vladimir felt nothing like when he had when he had first laid eyes upon Scamander. With Scamander, the bond have been instant, strong, powerful, magic. And though he felt the need to protect this rainbow too, it was nothing like the bond he had felt for Scamander. Vladimir moved to Adara’s side and nuzzled her briefly. “Hello, big sis. I see you... changed too. This is Scamander, my ward. Are you bonded to this rainbow? I’m Vladimir by the way. What is your name?
