He didn't know where Myrria would be hanging out now that she wasn't at the den anymore, but he had to try. He had been spending his free time looking around the open lands for her, wondering where that other wolf would take her. She must not have returned to the den for fear that he had ratted her out to Malleah and she would no longer be welcome. Exodus thought about it, if only for the safety of his mate and their child but somehow, something in him told him that they weren't in danger. He'd seen the way Myrria lunged at that boy's neck. He didn't know her aim or what she'd do if she had actually managed to topple the younger wolf, but he didn't want to see it, either way. It was unexpected but maybe he understood a bit too much. He'd done much worse in his own opinion. He'd killed those that didn't deserve it, all becuase they were given to him as a job. He had done a lot of things he wasn't proud of.
He didn't tell Malleah, only confided that he was worried about Myrria. He somehow hoped that their mother-daughter bond would pull them together and maybe Myrria would tell her why she did it. If anyone deserved an explanation, it was Malleah, not him. He knew they were never close. Myrria never completely trusted him and he wouldn't force it on her. But in this, she could trust him, whether she knew it or not. It wasn't his secret to tell. He had saved the boy and that's all that mattered. Now he had to see how it would play out. Lucia was safe. She asked about Myrria every day, wondering where her faithful big sister was, but Exodus only reassured her that Myrria would still be watching over her and she would come to visit them soon, that she was probably busy hunting or making new friends. At least that's what it seemed like when he saw her with that other female, the one who hissed accusations at him and the boy's father like they were the bad guys. She was obviously troubled.
He tried tracking Myrria after the encounter but it had been days since that encounter and the trail went cold. Finally he made his way to the grotto, somehow wondering if all predatory wolves were drawn there by some sixth sense of safety in the darkness. He knew his own father had come here to live after he was exiled from Diveen. It was as good a place as any to look. He peered into the darkness with a sigh before stepping in.
