The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

there's a crack in my soul you thought was a smile
It is a dangerous game that she plays with him, matching him for dominance as she steps forward, her wild eyes sizing him up like so much fresh meat. There is a charge between them, a spark of energy sizzling in the air that sends a bolt of excitement coursing through her. She can see the muscles tighten as his lips curl back, accentuating the sharp cut of his fangs. Still, she does not back down. His command for submission is kindling to her fire and she reacts on instinct, her hackles rising as she invades his space, pushing closer so that the smell of him - wild, earthy - burns her nose.

She is not weak, and perhaps something inside of her needs to prove it. She certainly has to prove it to him if she has any hopes of recruiting him in her efforts to rid the world of Pine.

”That depends,” she quips, amusement painting her words. They are not companions - not yet anyways. Neither of them are safer for having the other near, though that only lends to the excitement buzzing a beehive in her belly.

Of course, the standoff must end at some point and it comes as quick as she’d expected. She can see the change in him, the moment he becomes annoyed, and the moment after that when it turns to delight just as quickly. They are two coiled vipers prepared to strike; she can see it in the strain of his muscles, like a rubber band stretched too far. It’s no surprise to her when he claims his title, snapping at her face with those sharp, threatening fangs.

She lets him do it, a gurgle of laughter blurring with the whine that claws up her throat as his teeth sink into flesh. Without hesitation, she snaps back, releasing the pressure that’s been building deep in the hollow of her gut from the moment she’d heard the shuffle of stone outside of the cave. Her teeth seek him out, but only for what he owes - a taste for a taste, if he’ll give it to her.

If not… Well, perhaps it’ll be a better night than she’d expected.
