Test My Will, Test My Heart

_________________________________________________________________________

As aunt and nephew exchanged pleasantries, Adara was thinking in her head about a game plan for their training. This would not only benefit Drizzt, but also her. It had been a long time since she had sparred, honestly she couldn’t remember the last time she had done it except for as a teen with her brother. But she knew it was an important skill to have, especially with her new role as a Tempest. Even though she had never been the violent type, she knew that words would not work with all types of wolves. Not anymore. She could not imagine that a vampire would listen to reason, especially if there was a rainbow around. But she would worry about that later. Right now she had a task to deal with at hand. Drizzt had even less experience than she did, and she wanted to help him at least have some practice. He was a Tempest just like her, and it would only be a matter of time before he found himself in a fight to protect another. And Adara didn’t want anything to happen to her nephew. Even though the pair were only beginning to become close, he was family and she wanted to make sure he had the tools to keep himself safe.

Adara’s unnaturally bright blue orbs looked to Drizzt, getting them both ready for their match. She gave him a few tips before they began. She took the time herself to quickly glance at the footing, knowing that the rocks and pebbles underpaw could cause bad traction and make it harder to turn or dodge attacks, especially if one was moving quickly. This was Adara’s first time doing anything like this, and she didn’t want to mess it up. She had never had pups of her own and never had to train another being before. She remembered what her own mother had taught her and her brother, and decided to try that strategy. She decided to start off straight forward, just lunging at the smaller brute to see what instincts he had. She assumed he would get out of the way, but she wanted to make sure that his reactions were quick. Drizzt had good instincts, his form dodged her attack and got out o the way quickly. The younger male gave her a smile, and she returned it at his accomplishment. “You…you missed me." She gave him a warm smile as she spoke. ”Only because you were quick enough to dodge it.”

Adara’s attack had been a very straight forward one, but she didn’t want to go into anything too fancy too quickly with him. And besides, she wasn’t one for fancy moves. ”Alright, let’s go again.” Without waiting for a reply from Drizzt, the silvery femme charged at him once more. She wouldn’t go for another head on attack, that would get them no where if they did that back and forth. She had her gaze focused on his throat, as if she was aiming for his jugular once more. In the last second, she quickly turned on her paws, aiming for his limb instead, reaching to grasp his leg and knock him off balance, in what would have been an aim to break his bone or at least tear into the tender ligaments, had they actually been fighting. But she would make sure he was not actually hurt. If he did dodge it again, she would not stop as before, but would continue her moment to try and knock out his closest hind limb in the same fashion. The femme was careful where she placed her paws, not wanting to slip and hurt herself with their sparring.
