Rain splattered onto the white male, but he didn’t mind. Some would flee and hide out from the rain, but being wet didn’t bother him. Besides, half the time he was covered by the dense foliage as he padded through the trees of the territory that was no longer familiar to him. Crimson orbs took in the new sites of the place that used to be his home. He was still surprised to find how different everything was, and he knew it would take time to get used to it and to relearn the lands. When he first came back to Blossom and found how different everything was, he had debated if he would even stay within these lands. A part of him just said to leave and to move on. Those that he had come back here for were gone, so what was the point of even staying? As independent as Ghost was, he knew that he needed a reason to stay within Blossom, or else he would just continue the lifestyle of a wanderer, never staying within one place for too long. Almost immediately when he came back though, he had met two different vargs who he had had relations with. Normally short lived flings would not be something to keep the male around, but when the female, Motionless, came back to him to tell him that she was carrying pups, he knew that he could not leave.

Ghost had been shocked, dumbfounded, to find out that the female was pregnant. Confusion swam through his head as he internally debated about what to do. A part of him said to run, to act like he didn’t know and leave them. But then he remembered his own mother. She had left him, would have let him die if his father had not taken him in. Could he really risk doing that to his own flesh and blood? And he thought of his siblings’ mother, and his own half-sister. How they had shunned him, made him feel worthless and that he had no family. What if Motionless found another male to help raise them and he did the same thing? No he knew that he could not leave. Even if Ghost was not committed to this female, he would not leave and let fate decide what happened to his own young. He would have to stay, help raise them. Be a father to them like his own father had done for him.

The brute was so lost in his own thoughts about the future and family that he had not noticed where he had wandered off to. Snow white paws passed through puddles as the rain continued on and he took a moment to try and orient himself. Wherever he was was not a place he had visited yet, not since everything had changed anyways. But what he stumbled into surprised him. The stench of blood reached his nares, and he continued through the trees, not realizing the scene he was about to walk into. As the phantom came through the trees, his pelt now soaked from the rain, he saw what should have been a sickening site. A body of a female left aside, blood on the ground, and two other males which unnaturally bright red orbs. They both had blood stained on their pelts despite the rains attempts to wash it away. Ghost could only assume whose blood it was that they had on them. Any normal being would flee from such a scene, but Ghost felt nothing. His time with NeMO had numbed him to such gruesome scenes more than he had realized, and instead of turning tail, he went forward.

Ghost may not be disturbed by what he saw as others would be, but he was not stupid. He knew that he was walking into a potentially dangerous situation, and he kept himself on guard. Even though there were two males, one was clearly hurt, dying even, and would be in no shape to fight. Ghost was confident in his own abilities that if they did become hostile he could handle himself with the other male. His form approached the two males, ignoring the body of the female that was dead on the ground, asking if they needed any help. The blonde male reacted in the way that Ghost half expected him to, hostility and anger in his bright orbs as he glared at the stranger. “Um, sorry to offend you, but what the fuck? Do you see that dead female over there? Do you smell the death on my teeth? What kind of sick piece of shit are you that you’re not running right now?” When Ghost’s naturally crimson orbs met the unnatural ones of the other male, he knew this had to be one of the vampires that Motionless had told him about. In fact it seemed that both of them were. He knew he should have been scared, should have left the scene once he realized, but he was rooted to the spot.

Ghost’s form stood where he was, not advancing anymore but not retreating either. His glance hovered over the dying wolf for a moment before turning back to the other male. He remained silent, his form not hostile unlike the other male, but neutral, waiting to see if he would take the help or if he would turn it away. If he did turn it away, then Ghost would leave. He was not going to force his assistance on a vampire, but he also was not going to walk away just because there was a questionable scene underway. After a few moments of tense silence, the stranger spoke once more. “Jeez, what am I thinking—looking a gift horse in the mouth. Here you’re trying to be a good person, and I’m just snapping at you. Not cool. If you’re not doing anything, mind helping me get this guy back to his mom? She lives in Caidir Olc, and I don’t think I can carry him by myself.” The name that he said was familiar, Caidir Olc. Was that not where Motionless said she came from? Was that not the place where she had been attacked and forced to flee from her own home because of the vampires she had once mistaken Ghost for? Regardless, he had offered to help, and was not going to turn away now. ”Sure.” He had never been a wolf of many words, and was not going to become talkative now. The large male padded forward, going to the other side of the dying wolf to help get him home. It seemed that he could not walk at all, so Ghost put his head under the other male’s limbs, lifting up half of his form to drape over his muscular shoulders, his gaze turning to the other stranger to see how he would proceed. ”I don’t know the new lands. You’ll have to lead the way.” His muscles flexed under him to hold the dying male up, waiting for the other vampire to give direction to where they were going.
