Fall had come to the mountains once more, the cool bite carried on the morning breeze unmistakable as the turn of the leaves to brilliant hues of red, orange, and yellow. In her eyes Spirane was always beautiful, but seeing the mountainside covered in the beautiful colors of Autumn was something else entirely. Her own bias aside she was sure nothing else could quite compare to the picturesque setting. She padded quietly under the colorful boughs, soaking in everything that was so purely her home. Winter was coming soon and would leave the mountain harsh and unforgiving, but for now she could enjoy the peacefulness. She knew what else winter would bring, the few pups which had been born this spring seemed to be doing well and growing quickly which always made her smile. She always managed to hide the dull pain the sight of such happy families caused to bloom in her chest. It was something she was getting used to, for better or for worse, while her family remained rather scattered.

It was hard to not feel a little abandoned, left alone to lead when she had barely known how. Much of what she had done so far was more trial and error than anything all of this originally slated for Nymeria and not herself. Still she did the best she could, and was rather proud of what she had accomplished so far she thought as she found her way to one of the open meadows Spirane had to offer. The tall grasses were beginning to brown, but they still swayed in the wind as she waded into their waters as the sun washed over her dark coat. It warmed her almost immediately without the cover of the trees to shade its light and she closed her warm brown eyes in enjoyment of the feeling letting out a soft sigh, for the moment at least she was content.
