Misty Mountain is opposite of Rainbow Cliff. Mists hover year-round at this high altitude, mistaken by some to be thin clouds. Thin layers of snow cover the mountain, making some areas slippery and hazardous.

Some think it romantic, a place to bring their mates, while others come to play and romp. However, all must agree that there is some level of mystery and spookiness hovering about with the mists...

Shilo And I Don’t Think That I Can Be Fixed

It had been a while since Shilo had felt relaxed since the fire and everything else that had happened. But she was beginning to feel relaxed around the younger femme. How could she not with all the excitement and energy that she had? The kalak couldn’t help but smile as Calmenthe was wriggling with energy. She tried to remember if she was this outgoing when she was younger, but she knew she wasn’t. She had always suffered from chronic illnesses, even from when she was born she was weak. She had tried to play with her siblings, but had always grown tired quickly and needed more rest than the normal wolf did. She still did not fully understand why, but she had learned how to live with it now. Shilo tried not to let her sickness keep her from living life, but it was harder for her to go out and explore the lands when she tired so easily and was more prone to becoming sick than most healthy wolves. But today she had not let it stop her and had powered through her aches and pains to come and explore the areas around the mountain.

The teen was basically buzzing with excitement when she spoke once more, "No such thing as too much fun, right? But I doubt I'm having more fun than you, you look like you're an adventurer! Don't adventurers have more fun?" Shilo laughed as she smiled once more to Calmenthe. ”No, definitely no such thing as too much fun. But I am not too much of an adventurer. I bet you’ll do more exploring than I will be able to.” Her smile looked a little sad as she spoke, knowing that this female would continue to grow and have the energy and ability to explore and travel wherever she wanted. While Shilo knew that she would have to often be on the sidelines. But she could not feel sad long with Calmenthe’s comments. "But wouldn't your name be 'Shy-high'? Or is it supposed to mean something different than that?” Once more a chuckle escaped the kalak’s mouth as she sat down on the earth, not wanting to show the fatigue she felt but knowing she needed to lay down, or at least sit for now. ”I suppose you have a point. But my name has no special meaning that I know of. It’s just what I was given. Does your name have any special meaning to it?” She had never really thought of names before, whether it be hers or anothers. But maybe there was some fun meaning behind Calmenthe’s name.

Shilo was glad that it was easy to converse with the other femme. She had not always been the most social, and it had been a while since she had adventured out of pack and she was worried about her social skills. But Calmenthe made it easy to keep the conversation going. "Rabbits should really be a little more understanding, then, shouldn't they? I think it would be fun to have a race and see if I could outrun the fastest thing in existence!” Shilo cocked her head at the words, never having thought the way that the teen did. ”I suppose you could always try to outrun a rabbit to race them. I know that I could never outrun one.” The maned wolf pushed her long limbs out forward, letting her bodice lay down on the ground. Her travel to the bottom of the mountains had taken her longer than she had projected and was more tired than she first thought, but she tried to keep a smile on her kissers. Seeing Calmenthe with all of her energy and wanting to play made her think again of her siblings. If she had been healthier she knew that she would have been more playful. Maybe this teen had had siblings of her own to play with, just as Shilo had had in their old pack.

Calmenthe didn’t miss a beat in their conversation as she continued to have a smile plastered to her kissers. "Hmmm... Nope! I don't think so! Why? Oh, but I don't know if I have any siblings, period, because I came here on my own. I don't have any family here, though." Immediately the kalak felt guilty for asking about the stranger’s family. Even though Calmenthe didn’t seem upset by the question or her lack of family here, she still felt bad for bringing it up. ”I’m sorry to have brought up your family. I only asked because you remind me of my siblings and how they used to play when we were young and still together.” She grew quiet for a moment, unsure if she should speak more, but in the end decided to. ”I believe that others can become your family, even if you are not blood related, with the right sort of bond. Don’t you think?” She was unsure if the statement was too personal, but it could not be unsaid now.
