Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

with every rain comes a fresh breath of life

He originally was a bit uncertain if he was going to take her up on the invitation, he stood debating on such things, his heart had been thudding his his chest with a nervousness he hadn’t felt in some time. Why? He thought he had gotten over it, but perhaps the life of a loner had indeed helped mold him and take an effect on him in more than one way. He was more confident in himself for sure, but perhaps he was still a little uncertain when it came to encountering large groups of wolves at once. He had pondered it though, the young girl he had known in his youth, like him, had changed much over the years they had been apart and grown. The seat of a queen perhaps changing her more than anything else yet, she was uncertain of her position, and it was apparent even though she was surrounded by others she could be even more lonely than the wanderer who might have ever had only one or two companions at a time. Maybe it was that that made her ask him to come, and maybe it was because of that he dared to cross the border of Taviora for his first time.

He knew for a while the loud, confident boy, Hyrule, had lived here, even ruled. Now he heard a much softer, more typical of leader of the forest pack now lead instead. He was certain it wouldn’t go poorly, his family was that of the angels, his father fairly well known across the lands, he didn’t think if for some reason the Spriane queen didn’t show he wouldn’t be unwelcome. The forest was beautiful, and even at a distance he could hear the howls of the apparent singer that was here. His blue eyes wandered the area, and soon after the music he began to hear the murmur of voices. A lot of voices. He found his paws stopping, his heart beating once again furiously in his chest, though he shoved himself forward again, though his steps were more stiff now. It felt… weird, he felt like the scared little pup back in the old days. Did he change so little? Did all he learn that day was how to handle himself when he was by himself? He guessed, in a way, he was still quite inexperienced in the ‘socializing’ department when it came to many wolves. Perhaps he had a propensity to avoid large groups of other wolves that he just couldn’t shake completely. So strange for his kind to be.

Finally he broke into the clearing. The summer flowers were fully in bloom and looked beautiful in this little treasure of a location in Taviora’s borders. He could see why anyone thought it would be a wonderful place to pick for such an occasion, though his breath seemed to catch in his throat there were just so many wolves. More than he had ever seen gathered in one place in all his life. It was strange to feel the flutter in his chest in a way he hadn’t in literally years. It was then he heard a voice that made him jump out of his locked trance and quickly turn to see the silvery, moon eyed wolfess who had invited him to begin with. It wasn’t just that though that he noticed, but the soft flowery scent that went following after her as well. It was more than like his mother who would roll in the flowers, it was thick on her, but not unbearable, but other than the trace of her scent of Spriane it was dominating her in a strange fashion. It was something she certainly didn’t carry with her when they met at the river, but it was also relaxing in a way. ”Kalseru, it’s nice to see a familiar face.” He said, though he was certain there were probably many more out there, in his daze he really didn’t make out anyone specific like his old partner Jackson, or any of the many angels he knew from his life in Diveen.

He made his way towards her, his gaze every once in awhile casting out over the other party goers almost anxiously before finally setting on her. Perhaps she could see a bit of that nervousness she was more familiar with when they were children dotting about him now. ”There are… a lot of wolves here. It’s sort of amazing to think exactly how many wolves live in Moladion, then how many are gathered here in one place.” His eyes remained on her mostly, it was pretty clear he was avoiding looking at the giant group of wolves, but his tones at least were still even and calm.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
