Did Your Heart Let Someone In Now

“Felt worse?” Her voice chimed in his head as he smiled weakly at his paws. Suddenly, he froze, his tail and smile both dropped. He opened his mouth to speak, but closed it again to rethink how to word the jumbled mess that was his past love life. He gave a soft sigh and glanced up to her, his eyes questioning but he didn't know what. Their was sorrow behind his demeanor, he felt out of place in the world. Hell, he looked like a damn rag doll. "I . . . Went through a tough, abusive time with a girl I used to be involved with. They're not kidding when they say love is blind . . . " He tried to give a small chuckled but then covered it up with a cough. He didn't know how she'd react, he thought he looked weak and ugly with how battered she made him. She even went ahead and craved a star shape around his eye to make him "look more handsome".

He shook his head, needing to sit down from becoming dizzy after he though about all the abuse she put him through. He looked to her again and immediately he felt drawn in again, his head swirling. He gave a faint smile to her as he fought off the dizziness and rose to his paws again. He had asked her her name, and became a little worried when she seemed frozen for a few seconds. She seemed . . . Almost swooning? But by what the starry eyed man did not know, he was more straightforward and to the point, he knew emotions but this was nothing like he had ever experienced a girl doing towards him. That's when her angelic voice broke through again, saving him from his thoughts.

“What a lovely name… Alistar.”

He smiled at her, his cheeks turning hot as he blushed under his warm and thick pelt. “I think, somehow, it suits you,” He gave her a warm, sincere smile as walked towards him a little more. “They call me Persephone.” He decided to try the title out for a second. "Persephone, like the Goddess. It fits." He beamed warmly at her, it soon faded as she closed the space between them, her plume dragging across his body. Her perfume was intoxicating to him, and his heart began to thump in his chest - His mind wondering if she saw the scars that ravaged his body.

Then she disconnected their body's, his starry orbs looking to find her own beautiful blue spheres. “Tell me, darling, what had you in such a hurry?” He gave a small chuckle behind a faint half smile. "I was running from my past, I guess you could say. These scars were all from her, to make me look "better", she was seeing several other guys . . . And one day, I decided I deserved better and I left her." He said softly, watching to see if he could read any emotions on the goddesses face. "Sometimes I wonder if that was really even me loving her . . . Or if it was just me not wanting to be alone." His half smiled faded away as he spoke those words, looking to stare into the eyes of the goddess before him.
