Congratulations to jukebox for winning the Rutgers week Scores Only contest in Week 8.
We had a season low 42 participants for the week, including 1 returning participant from prior weeks, as some fans checked out after the devastating Penn State loss. All 42 posters picked Michigan to win. The average prediction was 30.40-7.52 Michigan. The median prediction was 30-8.5 Michigan. Both were reasonably close to the eventual 35-14 result.
jukebox won the week with a prediction of 34-13 Michigan, for a deviation of 2 points off the actual result. This provided a comfortable win by 4 points over his next closest competitors. There was a group of them, as we had a 4 way tie for 2nd place between toffee, LaLlama, mwild and NewaygoNewt. LaLlama and NewaygoNewt both picked Michigan to win 37-10, while toffee picked it 30-13 and mwild went with 33-10. All had scores of 6.
Big Apple Bucky held down 6th place by himself with a score of 7 (31-17). We had another big group of 5 prognosticators sharing 7th place to round out the top 10 (11 in this case). All were one more point back of Bucky and only 2 points out of 2nd place with scores of 8. They were jjwalker, COWolverine, stewie, sim and oldeblu.
The median differential for the weeks was 14 points (9 vs Florida, 23 vs Cincinnati, AFA 13, Purdue 11.5, MSU 21, Indiana 14, PSU 28); the average was 15.21.
