Congratulations to rk3 for winning the Minnesota week Scores Only contest in Week 9 with a perfect prediction.
We were back up to 49 participants for the week, including 10 returning participants from prior weeks and one new participant, as some fans shook off the PSU depression. All 49 posters picked Michigan to win. The average prediction was 32.54-10.83 Michigan. The median prediction was 31-10 Michigan. Both were extremely close to the eventual 33-10 result as fans finally seemed to grasp the team that we have this year.
rk3 won the week by picking the 33-10 Michigan final spot on, for a deviation of 0 points. He made this prediction right before kickoff and I have tried to determine if he hacked our board to do so :) As impressive as this was, his victory was very narrow as many posters were right in the neighborhood. Nikos was only 1 point back to take 2nd place with his 34-10 prediction, deviation of 1. One more point back with deviations of 2 points was a group of 5 posters who shared 3rd place: oldeblu, ajs, Lods, TokyoWolverine and Kosmo. Interestingly, all 5 predicted the same score of 31-10 Michigan.
Just behind the fivesome by one point were bmh75 and blueinaz1 with scores of 3, which was good enough to share 8th place. LaLlama and DBCooper shared 10th with scores of 4, just ahead of 5 more posters who had deviations of 5.
The median differential for the weeks was 9 points which tied for the season low or best predictions (9 vs Florida, 23 vs Cincinnati, AFA 13, Purdue 11.5, MSU 21, Indiana 14, PSU 28, Rutgers 14); the average was 9.58.
