They're back! We are pleased to be holding another posting and advertising contest. You can enter one, both, or neither - it's totally up to you, but if you enter both you have double the chance to win a fab prize!
If you're not familiar with it or have forgotten, the basic idea for the posting contest is that you will get points for every post that you write, and the players that have the most points by the end will win a prize. The advertising contest works similarly: you will receive points for placing ads and affiliate requests on other RPG sites, and these will all be tallied at the end.
So here are the rules:
POSTING CONTEST RULES
1. Every in-character post is worth 1 point as long as it is at least 200 words long (note-style posts do not count).
2. Every battle post (excluding the initial challenge, dice roll battles, and any note-style responses) is worth 5 points, regardless of the outcome.
3. Every written steal is worth 1 point, and every successful steal is worth 5 points. (Note: though we are currently holding a vote to determine whether or not steals will be removed from TLI, players are still welcome to post steals up until the point we announce our final decision regarding them.)
4. Every raid is worth 5 points for everyone involved - regardless of the outcome - from the point the raid is initiated, up to (and including) the block. This is for the raid as a whole rather than each individual post. Any reaction post that follows the block is worth the usual 1 point.
5. To participate, simply reply to this thread (make sure you use a password so that you can update the same post) and tally up your posts and points over the next week. Make sure that you provide a link to each post as evidence so that we can check the totals are correct before we announce the winners.
ADVERTISING CONTEST RULES
1. Every ad placed on another site is worth 1 point.
2. Every affiliation request placed on another site is worth 1 point, and a successful application is worth an additional 3 points.
3. Only advertisements and affiliate requests placed on ACTIVE sites (sites that have had member activity in the last month) count.
4. Duplicate ads and affiliate requests are not allowed. If someone has beaten you to a site, you cannot post on it again.
5. Please follow other sites' rules regarding posting ads and affiliate requests (e.g. posting on the right board, avoiding spamming) and be respectful at all times. If a site has no specified or obvious place for ads or affiliate requests, please leave them be rather than posting in the wrong place. Remember, when you advertise TLI you are acting as a representative of TLI.
6. Be sure you use the right code. Many sites use BB code and our ad will not display correctly on them unless the code has been converted. If you are unsure how to do this, you can find tutorials and automatic converters via Google.
7. To participate, simply reply to this thread (make sure you use a password so that you can update the same post) and tally up your ads and affiliate requests over the next week. Make sure that you provide a link for each one as evidence so that we can check the totals are correct before we announce the winners.
Note: if you intend on participating in both contests, please only make one post for both of them rather than two separate ones.
PRIZES
The winners of each contest (first, second, and third place) will win a prize of their choice. A while ago we expanded our selection of perks, and now we offer something for almost every aspect of the game. These prizes will give you advantages in battles, steals, and raids, in protecting your territories, and in customizing any future foals just the way you want them. So if you have an interest in earning useful perks, you should get involved!
These contests will both run for exactly a week's time, starting now until December 3rd board time. Any posts made after that point will not count, so be sure you have all your links tallied up before then so there are no delays.

P.S. We understand many of you have been busy with real life and that things around here have been slower than normal as of late, but please don't let that stop you from entering!
