She acted so much older than she was, and part of him wondered what it was that made her grow up so fast. Just her normal personality or if her parents expected it of her. He supposed he was pretty mature when he was her age too, but then again, his parents weren’t exactly okay with antics and games, and really.. Anything other than sitting quietly and being out of the way it felt. He wondered if her life was the same, but she continued on asking him if he had any questions to feel free to ask. He wasn’t sure what questions he would have. He didn’t see an issue if the packs were allies or anything, it didn’t really dawn on him she was opening up an opportunity to ask about her about herself as well, but he felt that would be invasive for wolves who didn’t know to much about each other. He would give it time. ”I’d appreciate that. Figure your nice Queen wouldn’t mind. Heard she’s pretty nice.” He lightly. After all, she didn’t murder his father for killing her sister apparently. But Zanon didn’t know of the other things that the forest guardian had done to help make it so Pine would rule and make it so justice would be served to the late empress as well as her sister.

However, her response to his words regarding her family, as well as his own garnered a response he wasn’t quite expecting. He stopped when she did, tilting his head slightly by her reaction. He couldn’t help, but shrug as she lightly chastised him for his thought process, but she didn’t know what he had done, been through, nor who his family was. The pack didn’t avoid him, but then again, he wasn’t sure a lot of the pack knew who he was. Cuirass certainly didn’t like him because of his family, his own brother didn’t cause he was the ‘better child’ and slightly more preferred to to their mom. Zanon basically avoided everyone he could so that he didn’t have to worry about it. So far though, it wasn’t going well with those that did know his lineage. However her sagacious remark, while he felt was a bit misguided, was true, he was far from either of his parents… sort of… at the very least he wasn’t going to repeat their mistakes. She didn’t pry, but he was certain with time she would ask about it. After all having their souls bound she was probably going to be more than a little curious. ”Not all see it that way, especially when I look like the very thing they hate. What’s the phrase? The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree?” He says rolling his shoulders. ”I can’t change their minds though, so I don’t bother.” He finishes.

They continued forward though, and she sighed and dismissed it for now, inclined perhaps to think she rather not know maybe? Or to simply let the matter pass. It wasn’t anything personal really that he didn’t want to say, perhaps it was more his bias and dislike towards his lineage that he rather not say either. After all.. At this point, what did it matter? His blood pretty much all but abandoned him. Maybe that was for the better too. It was probably appropriate then that she mentioned that she had run into some less than pleasant wolves. ”Ah, that’s life though sadly. I’m afraid not everyone can be cordial or at least have some manners.” He had seen enough of that in his life too. ”But happy your trip here has been nice at least.” He added with a smile, though really if she thought a wretch like him was pleasant it probably meant he was putting on a pretty good show at least, though not all of it was show. Zanon while he wanted to manipulate others also wasn’t outwardly dastardly or hateful either. What would it get him? That was his thoughts mostly. He certainly wasn’t going to go after anyone either for being such a way to her. She was fine right? Though it was strange to think of him putting himself in harms way for anyone but himself again, especially seeing how it worked out when he tried to do that for Aakil.

”I wouldn’t mind doing that at some point. Though probably should finish up my task first. We will have lots of time to do that though while I am living in Taviora.” He added grinning, putting all his eggs in that basket. He was pretty sure that was gonna be fine, however the grin went right off his face though at her next words. Surprised perhaps that already she found him important to her. It really did befuddle him, but he wasn’t unhappy about it just, he honestly wasn’t sure what to think. Other than being her imprint he hadn’t done anything for her to make her like him. Perhaps being imprints was enough. However the surprised look went to more pensive when she said she wasn’t going to press him, but she did want to know about his family. ”If you want to know so bad. I’ll tell you, the Traitor King Aranck and his equally traitorous mate Malleah were my parents. You can probably infer a lot just from who they are what my life was like.” I said rolling my shoulders. Sure Aranck treated him better than some of the others, but mostly Zanon just stayed out of his way watched… ”So we probably shouldn’t be going around yelling it to all your Tavioran pack that I’m the son of the child killer.” He said rolling his shoulders slightly.

Maybe she had never heard of him. After all, Aranak had died probably before she was even thought of by her parents. He died when Zanon was still finding his own paws on this world too. However, Zanon doubted that. She was a diplomat, of Taviora no less, surely she had to have heard of the worst alphas to ever step paw in Iromar.
