a vexatious kiss
This mortal, whatever his purpose, seemed utterly captivated by the hot red embers that stared incredulously and coldly into him. He was one of a few that was not haunted or scared by the hellish portals that seemingly floated through the darkness of this luscious, convoluted paradise. Enraptured by the sight, the stranger took no notice of the second set of glowering orbs that came to rest on his pelt. He did not shy away from the dominant force of her mother Lucaya, and instead he took the situation in stride. Muscles tensed along his spine, straightening up as his crown dipped pleasingly before the Vampire Queen. Mother seemed unphased by the whole piece, and instead kept up a small conversation with the lad. His purpose and explaining a little of what it was that made this pack so odd, although she left out the gruesome details for now. There was no use in giving up all their little secrets to this young brute. Mother teased him with just the sort of information that was equally as revealing as it was concealing. It made the mind beg to know more, because the imagination would continuously conjure up images so ridiculous that it could drive a wolf mad.
Lucaya kept the boy answering questions, but she paused, smiling at her daughter. And the brute, Rogan as he named himself, turned round to see her standing there. She spoke with soft, dripping venom not so nearly sickening as her mother’s but it fit her innocent image. “I don’t play games, Miss Diosa. I came here to find a faction to join and help with my strengths. If you’ll please explain what you’re searching for in a recruit, I am obliged to explain why I would make the best candidate. He turned his attention back to Lucaya, as he spoke. Diosa moved silently from behind him, her slim figure wound its way around him. She was not nearly so close to suggest anything, but her rubies stared with an impeccable coolness. Diosa traced the lines of his tautly pulled figure, searching for scars to tell stories and toned muscles to rely the preparation he took with his body. She made a full circle before stopping in front of him, a brief smile flashed across her kissers; fangs in full length.
Diosa nodded quietly and then padded to her mother’s side, her tail sweeping side to side. Mother was accepting of this new brute, but she added further to his deal. He could become one of them, although unlike some, Lucaya did not take by force. Not with any of her members. It was merely an offer given to them, and should they deny at first, they must only ask to rescind the decision and make themselves anew. Think Rogan, choose wisely. For you can become one of three things in this life should you agree to this. First is a vampire like us. Second there is no change, only unyielding agony as the poison rips through your veins, or lastly there is death. Do not take this lightly, for it is your own life you hold in your paws. How much is it worth to you? Diosa was completely serious as she spoke to Rogan, even for her youngness she seemed to possess a certain aura of maturity. Life had forced her to become an adult much faster than most pups or adolescents.
This is what escaping death had caused her.
