Saturday, December 16, 2017 6:00 p.m. The Orillia Christmas Bird Count and Pot Luck Supper.
Bird Reports and Pot Luck Supper at OMAH, Peter St S., (2nd floor with kitchen) at 6 p.m.
Participants and non participants are welcome to the Pot Luck, and to hear the tally. Will there be new birds to add to the list or maybe new highs for species?
Snow came last night and more is expected, so the feeders will become more active. Yesterday I watched a large raft of Common Mergansers, mostly males, with their crispy new plumage. Unfortunately the weather indicates that Couchiching will be mainly frozen by the 16th, .There are currently American Widgeon near the narrows.
