Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Winter had fallen across the land and as she had no pack to call home, Maude did what she usually did and migrated to an area of Moladion that had more favorable weather. This meant moving east. She picked her way through the forest, her coloring helping her blend somewhat into the trees and shadows, though with white interspersed, she was far more noticeable.

With half a mind to peek in on Asteraia and see what had become of it with its new alpha, she kept onward. However, by the time she reached the newly scented borders of the pack, she relented. Her curiosity wasn’t great enough to snoop just yet, but her stomach had other ideas for her.

Giving the boundaries of Asteraia one last sniff and vowing to come back and snoop to her heart’s content, she turned southward and skirted the edge of not just Asteraia but Diveen as well as she made her way to the fields. Perhaps she’d be able to find herself a hare to catch, tide her over until she could wiggle herself in on a hunt with another wolf or find some leftovers to pick at.

More than once she’d thought it might be easier if she just joined a pack but that would require her to be around others for a prolonged period of time. She was hesitant to let anyone into her life, or more specifically, to get attached to anyone. Her determination to remain alone, however, was constantly at war with her desire to be accepted and acknowledged. This perpetual internal conflict kept Maude forever lingering outside of packs without daring to venture too far within.

Breaking away from the borders of Diveen, Maude ventured out into the frost and snow covered fields in search of a snack to hold her over.
